Reviews:
💕 "The Wedding Ring was cute. I liked the new-to-me actors. Twelve days later and my soon-to-be-geriatric brain can't really remember any details from the movie - oops! But I'm pretty sure it was family friendly." ~~Jane
💕 "The Wedding Ring – This movie is lighthearted and family-friendly. The characters acted a bit silly, at times, but nothing too outlandish. Kate Sterling portrays a wedding ring/jewelry designer who owns her own shop, but she is offered a new job in the city where an old love interest currently lives. As they start to rekindle their relationship, Kate is torn between her career decision. Much of the movie is spent wondering – will she stay or will she go? It’s a lighthearted story overall. I enjoyed the flashbacks from their childhood and there is a satisfying, happy ending." ~Net
The Perfect Wedding Match
Original Air Date: June 13, 2021
Starring: Jenna Michno and Tyler Courtad
Story-line via UPtv: Programmer for the ‘Plus Ones’ matchmaking app Maisie Jacobs is single and dateless for her little sister Ali’s wedding. Keen to avoid her family’s questions, Maisie uses the app to find her own plus one – but is sent the only person she would never date! Could the mix-up be her chance for true love?
Reviews:
💕 "The Perfect Wedding Match. Um. Um. Ummm. This movie. It was kind of cute and, yet, kind of cringeworthy. For me, it was like a train wreck that you just can't look away from. Several times I almost quit watching, but it was such a bizarre mess that I was kind of mesmerized to see if it would be like that all the way through. The characters and their dialogue and the situations they would be in were so over-the-top and sometimes ridiculous that I wondered if the directors were purposefully going for a parody type movie. I'm still not sure?? I kind of enjoyed seeing new-to-me actors and I actually think most of them did a really good job, I think they did exactly what the script or director told them to do, which would make them pretty good actors to pull off this parody style of movie (if that's what they were going for??). I wouldn't necessarily advise anyone to NOT watch it, but just know that if the over-the-top, silly stuff is kind of annoying you, it is not going to get any different as the movie goes on. Basically family friendly but there is one goofy relative that hides bottles of wine that they get out to drink and there were one or two vague comments implying that unmarried couples should travel together to see if they really get along well enough to get married or some such nonsense like that." ~~Jane
💕 "The Perfect Wedding Match – This movie was, indeed, something… the characters acted a bit wacky, at times. The overall flow was fine, but it lacked depth. Maisie needs a plus one for her sister’s wedding and ends up using a match through her own app. Of course, it ends up being someone Maisie knows and already has preconceived feelings of not liking. The movie was mostly family friendly, except for a few issues, such as: the hiding of wine bottles and a little adult dialogue. Overall, I thought there was very little romantic chemistry between any of the couples, and I found myself losing interest as I watched." ~Net
A Whirlwind Wedding
Original Air Date: June 27, 2021
Starring: Morgan Kohan and Drew Nelson
Story-line via UPtv: Cassie, a talented event planner returns to her home town to plan her mother’s wedding. She’s having trouble accepting her stepfather-to-be and quickly Cassie’s obsession with perfection begins to clash with her mother’s wishes for a low-key celebration —especially when it comes to handsome and charming Kyle, the chef Cassie deems inadequate for catering the event. But as complications arise—both personal and professional—it’s Kyle who is able to help her pull off the big day and help her find the love she’s been looking for…

💕 "A Whirlwind Wedding. Cute. Formulaic. Sweet. A bit awkward in places. Lovely barn wedding set. For me, it was nice for a one-time watch but not a keeper; I think most folks here will enjoy the movie. Family friendly except for in the very beginning the lead actress and her friend are both talking about taking the next step with their respective boyfriends by moving in with them; it's a brief scene but it's definitely talked about." ~~Jane
💕 "A Whirlwind Wedding – The romance in this movie is somewhat slow, at first; however, it’s still very sweet to watch it build. I enjoyed seeing Morgan Kohan again (Lillian, from "When Hope Calls") and her mother, portrayed by actress, Laura Soltis, is recognizable from a number of Hallmark movies – notably in "Five Star Christmas," "Karen Kingsbury's Maggie's Christmas Miracle," "Framed for Murder: A Fixer Upper Mystery," and many others. One caution is when Cassie mentions to her friend her relationship plan to move in one day with her boyfriend. That brief comment was unnecessary to the rest of the story. It was fun, however, to watch Cassie (Kohan) plan her mother’s wedding in just a few days with the help of a local caterer, Kyle Billings, who is also handy with woodworking and construction. It's obvious Kyle and Cassie understand each other and bring out the best in one another – while they are creating the wedding space together in a country barn and trying to rediscover where their passion truly is with their work. Cassie’s current boyfriend is the type who is self-absorbed with his career, until he fears losing Cassie and makes a grand gesture. The country barn decorated with beautiful flowers and party lights for the wedding is beautiful! Plus, the outdoor wedding ceremony was also lovely, but it was quite odd how far the wedding couple stood apart and no kiss was ever shown. (I’m sure this was corona virus related, but the couple could have, at least, stood a little closer. They were nearer to each other in other scenes and later on - on the dance floor, so it was quite odd the distance they stood apart for the actual wedding.) After the wedding is successfully over, Cassie eventually discovers where her heart truly belongs. This is a family friendly, delightful movie; it is my top pick of UPtv’s June Groom movie offerings." ~Net
💕 "A Whirlwind Wedding A hidden gem - I absolutely loved this. Now there's absolutely nothing new to it - a typical "Hallmark-type" movie which we've seen many times before - it's not even fast paced and the romance is slow to develop because of Cassie having a boyfriend in the background but Morgan Kohan and Drew Nelson make a perfect couple, there's sparks at the beginning as they disagree on the menu for her mother's upcoming wedding but come to an understanding not just on this but Kyle comes to her assistance on fixing up the venue. In fact at their first accidental meeting at a restaurant as Cassie is on her way home you can literally feel a frisson between them. The banter between Cassie and Kyle is enthralling and I love the way their relationship deepens. At one stage when Kyle misunderstood a situation which devastated him I could feel myself tearing up. Cassie's mother and her future husband and Kyle's partner and brother are all excellent in the secondary roles. One quibble I did have was that both the inside of Kyle's cafe and at the beginning the barn where they decided to hold the reception were very dark and I found the photography quite gloomy at times. It's always lovely when something you're not expecting a lot from comes up trumps but something about this movie just touched a sweet spot in me. One of my favourite movies this year. Interestingly both the lead actors appeared just a few months previously in a movie called A Romance Wedding and there are some similarities in the plot - at first I thought it must be the same movie under a working title but not so - I just wish UPtv would give it an airing" - Florence
Hope you enjoyed this movie information. I was most looking forward to seeing Morgan Kohan (from When Hope Calls) in A Whirlwind Wedding and after watching it, I must tell you - this family friendly, delightful movie was my top pick of UPtv’s June Groom movie offerings. Something about that poster and that country barn decorated with beautiful flowers and party lights - just drew me right in!
What do you think? Which movie are you looking forward to?
Also, if you would like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, after they air on UPtv, please share in comments.
Blessings on your day! Net
These look awesome, thank you Net. The whirlwind wedding, it looked like there was a sequel or something on this. i think those 2 Morgan and Drew filmed another movie together i thought it was related to the 1st, maybe we will see that coming up.
ReplyDeletehave you heard when they are going to play Heartland on the tv Up?
Sabrina - Yeah, that is really interesting that they have two unrelated wedding-themed movies together. Maybe the other one will end up on UP, eventually, too.
DeleteAs for Heartland, I haven't heard any word, yet, on new episodes on UPtv.
Can I also say how happy i am to see Dillon Casey again? I watch A Perfect Christmas a lot and he is so good in that and funny.
ReplyDeleteYes, same here, Sabrina! At first, I was like, who is that guy in the poster and then it dawned on me! So good to see him again.
DeleteSorry the other movie with Drew and Morgan is the same director but not same character names, so I guess it isnt a sequel. Just a director that likes the same actors like many others. I really thought they were related cause both wedding movies. hopefully we will see that movie soon too, Romance Wedding.
ReplyDeleteLove it so much
ReplyDeleteGreat news - those were the 3 movies I was expecting from UPtv.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the look of The Perfect Wedding Match - I love it when there's a bit of friction between the leads!
I'm wondering what will happen in July and Auugst - last year they only had 3 new moies in those months and there's nothing more on Reel One marked as being sold to them.
I'm still wondering what's going on at Hallmark - according to Reel One Hallmark took up a movie released in 2020 called Love's Second Chance with Gabrielle Christian and Cody Ray Thompson and we've never heard anything about this from them.
There's also Finding Love In Mountain View which looked really interesting but was diappointingly pulled at the last minute last September and hasn't been mentioned since.
This is so exciting to see UPtv doing even more movies. I don't have the channel, but maybe I'll try a streaming service someday to catch up on everyone's favorites from UP. I'm keeping a list based on reviews here at It's a Wonderful Movie! :-)
ReplyDeleteAlso wanted to drop by and let everyone know that right now Amazon Prime has Hallmark's "How to Fall in Love" with Eric Mabius and Brooke D'Orsay available to watch free under the title "The Dating Coach." Such a cute movie!
~Alicia
Alicia, I love that movie! "How to Fall in Love" is a huge personal favorite, and I have a fun story that goes along with it.
DeleteMy sister gave me the DVD of "How to Fall in Love" on my birthday back in 2014 when it first came out. I opened it up, was thrilled to receive it, and I laid it down with some other gifts. Several days later, I picked it up and I was looking over the cover, when I read a quick review on the back. I thought to myself, how neat, I would love to have my review on a... and as I thought that in my mind - I suddenly realized IT WAS MY REVIEW! It said ITSAWONDERFULMOVIE.COM. I was beyond surprised, as no one had told me they would be using my quote on the actual DVD cover.
Right after that, I did a fun game back in 2014 - to see who could discover my review on the DVD first. You can see that - *HERE* - along with images of the DVD cover.
Before discovering that, I already loved that movie, but after that, it was even more special to me!
Thank you for sharing about the free to stream through Amazon Prime!

I appreciate this movie tip, Alicia! :)
Net, I bought that DVD when I discovered the SSD movies and enjoyed Eric Mabius so much. Sorry I did not see your review. I will look for it now. Did not know you are someone famous! Congrats on being published!
Deletekitkat, Awe, I'm not famous (so sweet of you to say!), but it was pretty cool. Please let me know if it's, by chance, on the back of your DVD cover, too. I really had no idea they would do that, it was a complete surprise!
DeleteI've often wondered if another DVD out there, might have my review, too. Anything is possible, right?
Oh my goodness, Net, that is too funny you were surprised to find your own review on the DVD! Now part of the fun of any new DVD purchase is checking for itsawonderfulmovie on the cover!
Delete~Alicia
Net, your review is on my DVD cover! I will be more observant from now on. Love that movie! Now I am ready to watch it again.
DeleteAlicia - that's so sweet! I always look thinking surely not, but you never know - it could be there! Thanks for keeping a lookout, too!!!
Deletekitkat, Thank you for letting me know my review is on your DVD, too! Every time we watch it, my family always quotes it - and says, “…Completely Romantic and Fun…” It's always done in fun and we all laugh!
DeleteI kinda wish they could've included my full review, but I'm truly just thrilled they put that phrase on there.
Hope you enjoy your next re-watch! :)
What is your favorite Wedding movies either on Hallmark Channel or another TV station?
ReplyDeleteChris, I personally love A Country Wedding, All of My Heart: The Wedding, The Perfect Bride 1 & 2, etc...
DeleteLOVE Country Wedding. Love when Jesse Metcalfe sings. still very sad about CS, I think i am going to skip watching cause i really watched a lot for his singing and for Trabby.
DeleteAll of my Heart is so good, love that Jenny and Brian get married.
I hope we will get to see shane and oliver get married soon. Loved seeing Rita and Norman get married on To the Alter.
Sabrina - I so agree! We definitely need Shane and Oliver's wedding! Hopefully, Steve won't come up with some excuse to interfere again.
DeleteAs for "Chesapeake Shores," it's funny how much focus they are putting on Trace and Abby for the Memorial Day Marathon promo. CS won't be the same without Trace.
Yes, Net when I see that commercial for the memorial day CS marathon, it says something like I will always be here for you, but not sure that will be true. Of all the lines Trace says t Abby, why did it have to be that line? At least I feel content knowing the really Abby & Trace in the books were very happy.
Deletelooks like some cute movies.

Morgan Kohan & Drew Nelson have 2 Wedding movies
ReplyDeleteA Whirlwind Wedding - UPTV
A Romance Wedding - Hallmark
how do you know romance wedding is for hallmark?
DeleteIs this a new Hallmark movie which has been announced?
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of A Romance Wedding with Morgan Kohan & Drew Nelson. - Florence
Waiting anxiously to see if UPtv are going to air new movies during July and August - last year there were only 3 - Florence

Jane, Wow! What a fascinating review. I wasn't sure when I saw the commercial if I'd like this one, but I'm quite intrigued after reading your witty comment. Sounds like it's going to be an interesting watch, after all, due to all the silliness.
DeleteThanks so much for sharing this extra fun review - I posted it above! ^

Florence, Thank you for sharing this review for "A Whirlwind Wedding." I shared it above. Glad to hear how much you enjoyed this sweet rom-com.
DeleteI also hope we see the other movie one day, too. I wonder how it came to be that they filmed both of these movies so closely together?
Watched A Whirlwind Wedding, and it was really sweet! -Maria
