🎄 Merry *Mark the 25th*! 🎄
Here at "It's a Wonderful Movie" we highlight every 25th day of the month - TOGETHER! - as we Countdown to Christmas! You can also join along! August 25th marks 4 months until December 25th, Christmas day!
For all of you Christmas movie fans who wish to participate, simply pick something Christmassy to watch TODAY - on the 25th!
Will you watch one of the Hallmark Christmas movies airing this week or will you choose something else to honor the 25th? It can be a Christmas movie, cartoon, family sitcom or anything you like. (There's only one stipulation - it must be family friendly.) Then, please share in comments below your Christmas choice for the day!
My pick to *Mark the 25th* is...
I decided to choose this movie for several reasons. First, I really enjoyed this sweet story, with Sophie and her grandmother, and the next door neighbors, David, and his nephew, Troy. Something about watching it, just makes me feel good inside and brings a smile to my face. The chemistry between Sophie and David is undeniable from the first time they meet. And the young boy, Troy, adds such a joyful spark to the film - from his love of dogs (especially adorable Riggs!), Christmas, and the wonderful way he enjoys spending time with his elderly next door neighbor.
The fact that David has adopted his nephew - is also one of the many reasons I personally chose this Christmas movie. An adoption has just gone through for someone in my family - and we are all over the moon for them and the little girl who will now have a forever family who loves her so much. We have seen the journey of adoption - through waiting, hoping, worrying, praying and wondering..., but today we are rejoicing!
If you don't have this movie on your DVR, you can pre-order it on DVD from Amazon - *here*.
I'm looking forward to re-watching this movie tonight after watching the convention coverage. Please share in comments if you plan to watch something Christmassy today!
Joyous Blessings to You All! Net
I will definitely watch a Christmas movie. I have many Hallmark movies taped - including the one you are watching. The one I will watch is Christmas at Dollywood. Niall Matter is definitely my favorite Hallmark actor. I have all of his Hallmark movies taped.
ReplyDeletestill have so many movies on dvr from hallmark's Christmas in july. hmm...which one to choose? it's a toss up between kevin mcgarry or tyler hynes...so maybe two movies...yes!! A Song for Christmas & Mistletoe Secret!! Yay...can't wait to get home & grab a bowl of popcorn for a night that will be merry and bright!! thanks for the suggestion!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the adoption in your family! That is wonderful news.It will be between this and Time For You To Come Home For Christmas. A family member of mine saved a fellow soldier's life while serving in Iraq/Afghanistan and received a Purple Heart for his bravery. The soldier had been injured and he pulled him to safety under the line of fire. I do love Picture A Perfect Christmas. Can't wait to receive my DVD.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Net on the little girl being adopted into your family! That's wonderful! If your family is anything like you then I know she'll have a loving and caring home.
ReplyDeleteI love a Very Merry Mix Up with Alicia Witt. I don't know what it is about it, but it's one of my favorites and both my husband and I enjoy it. So that's what we'll be watching.
ReplyDeleteI watched last night on DVD "Home for Christmas Day".
ReplyDeleteMy daughter (who came to us through adoption!) and I watched a Godwink Christmas:meant for love today and it was so good! I’ve never seen it before but we loved the happy ending and all the Godwinks!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the adoption! Such great news for your family! I haven't decided what to watch for my Christmas movie yet. I don't have A Picture Perfect Christmas taped, but it was one of my favorites from last year. I have so many to choose from I might just shut my eyes and grab one!! Lol!
ReplyDeletePicture a Perfect Christmas...a perfect Christmas picture to watch! (Wow...say that 3 times fast!) :-) I have enjoyed Merritt Patterson's movies these past few years, and I hope she continues doing Hallmark movies. I think she has the talent and likability factor to be a fan favorite alongside the more "established" Hallmark actors.
ReplyDeleteBut for me this month, I am in the mood for something short and sweet, and so I am going to go with A Charlie Brown Christmas.
How wonderful for your family!
