I hope you enjoyed this extra special update of what's coming up on Hallmark!

*I also want to include a *BIG* Caution here. At this point, we don't know which movies will be family-friendly. I'm hoping there will still be many, but at this time, we just don't know. Throughout the Christmas Season I will do my best to inform you if there is a storyline of concern, and if any of you who follow here catch something - please be sure to share in comments!

There's a lot of info to unload and take in here. Hopefully, some of your favorite Hallmark stars will be starring in something new very soon!

I'm glad we have yet another premiere date for "Country at Heart" and it's wonderful to see so many familiar faces returning again this Christmas!

Joyous Blessings! Net

  1. Thanks for all this information, Net.

So, Country At Heart with Jessy Schram and Niall Matter airing on October 3.

    Dare we hope!!

To be honest I'm not overenthusiastic about a lot of these pairings - wish they had kept Nikki DeLoach with Michael Rady.

Will be interesting to see how Alicia Witt and Andrew Walker comes over.

When Calls The Heart has a lot to answer for - no other films (as yet although we can hope) for Paul Greene, Kevin McGarry and Chris McNally.

    3. I agree, some of these pairings are not fan favorites. They really need to stick to what works, and what the fans like. Also, Don't get to political either. Just sayin.

    4. Jacb, I totally agree with you 100%. Hallmark should stick with what works for them, cause I can tell you some things don't work for them and is not their fan base or demographics. Just like soap opera's demo's are not usually men. Hallmark knows their audience and should stick to that and to their loyal fans.

    5. Alicia Witt is a very good actress but sometimes the chemistry doesn't flow. I'm thinking that may be the case with Andrew Walker and Alicia

    7. Yeah, that's right! "Country at Heart" has a third premiere date! Hopefully third time's the charm!

For all of you who want Hallmark to stick to their formula of what works and has worked in the past, I wholeheartedly agree, but I don't think that's their plan. They will bend to a political agenda, and even though that movement is loud, our voices must not be silent - we have to keep speaking up for our beliefs. That's our right, our freedom of speech.

      Blessings to you all! Net

  2. I have to admit I'm concerned about what content we might find this season on Hallmark. I wish I could be more excited but I'm afraid they are heading in another direction. I'm not interested so far in any of the new Hallmark actors. I will be anxiously awaiting When Calls the Heart and always love to see Candace Bure.

    2. Anonymous & Sabrina,

Yeah, it's disappointing to not see a lot of Mystery movies on the list. Plus, the "Aurora Teagarden" they are filming won't be seen until next year. I think with the timing of the virus and Christmas coming, mystery movies are being pushed aside even more. I mean, I love the Christmas movies and all, but I still enjoy the mystery movies too.

    5. The Story of Holly & Ivy (Children’s Book)

St. Agnes orphanage has closed for Christmas, and all the children except Ivy have been dispatched to various homes for the holiday. Miss Shepherd, the head of the home, cannot take Ivy home with her, so she decides to send her to an infants' orphanage, a train ride away. Ivy suggests that she could instead go to her grandmother in Aylesbury, a surprising inspiration, since she has no grandmother. This inspiration is a primary theme of the story, which begins, "This is a story about wishing."

Ivy is put on a train. She tells travelers she will be visiting her grandmother in Aylesbury. When they respond knowingly to that, she says, "Then...there is an Aylesbury." She gets off there and begins to explore, enjoying the Christmas Eve in the town and looking for her grandmother.

A beautiful new Christmas doll named Holly is standing in the display window of Mr. Blossom's toy store, wishing for a little girl to come and take her home. The toy owl next to her, Abracadabra, treats her with undisguised contempt, and suggests that, since no one will want Holly after the holiday, she will wind up spending the year in the back room with him.

Mrs. Jones, who lives a few blocks from the toy store, suggests to her husband, a police officer that they have a Christmas tree that year. Her husband refuses, saying that it would be a waste of money since they have no children to enjoy it. Despite his words, Mrs. Jones buys a Christmas tree and decorates it.

After a busy afternoon of Christmas sales, Mr. Blossom's toy store finally closes. Neither Holly nor Abracadabra has been sold. Mr. Blossom is tired from a long day's work, so he asks Peter to lock up the store for him, telling him that he can pick a toy for himself as a bonus. Peter locks up the store, but the key slips out of a hole in his pocket without him noticing, landing in the snow outside the shop.

Meanwhile, Ivy's search for her grandmother has not gone well. Feeling very discouraged, she is walking past the toy store when Holly catches her eye. The doll is exactly what she wanted, but she is outside, and the store is locked. She wishes to have the doll, and Holly wishes to have the girl (Ivy). She finds the key that Peter dropped, and decides to keep it. Night falls, and she takes shelter in a nearby alley.

The next morning, she returns to the toy store to look at Holly, and overhears a conversation between Peter and Officer Jones, who has been on patrol all night. Peter is distraught about losing the key to the shop. Ivy realizes that was the key that she found, and returns it. Peter goes in to check the store. Officer Jones quickly realizes that Ivy is on her own, and decides to take her home for breakfast. When Ivy insists that she is going to see her grandmother, Officer Jones decides to let her lead the way to her supposed grandmother's home.

Peter ensures that the store has not been robbed. Since Ivy saved his job, he decides to use his bonus to select a present for her, and chooses Holly. Abracadabra, furious that Holly's wish is about to come true, hurls himself at Peter and winds up in the trash. When Mr. Blossom goes to retrieve him later, he has mysteriously vanished.

When Ivy sees a house with a beautiful Christmas tree and no children, she claims it is her grandmother's house, which surprises Officer Jones, because it is his own home. When he lets them inside, Mrs. Jones quickly accepts Ivy, and Ivy decides she has found her grandmother. Shortly after, Peter delivers a beautifully wrapped box, which contains Holly. Everyone's wishes have come true: Ivy has a family and a Christmas doll, Holly has a little girl, and Mrs. Jones has a child - she and Officer Jones adopt Ivy.

The story ends with a reflection of "If" imaginings showing how thin are the threads holding together the big elements of the story, and "If I had not wished," concludes Holly.

    6. Net, I sent a reply to you on Monday but did it hurriedly. I was very busy with work at the time. I do not do any social media so when I found your Christian site here, I was ecstatic. The Holly & Ivy info I saw was a comment by another Hallmark fan on a yahoo news feed. I have decided the best thing I can do for Hallmark is pray for those executives who are making these decisions that offend Christians. I am a born again Christian and my soul is so burdened by all these bad changes that I realize prayer is my answer. These things are out of my control. Thanks for your patience with me Net. I am sure God led me to this site.

    7. The Corner of Holly and Ivy
(Harmony Harbor #7) by Debbie Mason

      A feel-good Christmas romance

Sometimes love is just around the corner . . .

With her dreams of being a wedding dress designer suddenly over, Arianna Bell (Janel Parrish) isn't expecting a holly jolly Christmas. Instead, her heart feels about three sizes too small. That is until her high school sweetheart Connor Gallagher (Jeremy James) returns to town and she finds his mere presence still makes her pulse race. But just when she starts dreaming of kissing under the mistletoe, he announces that he will be her opponent in the upcoming mayoral race....

Hot-shot attorney Connor Gallagher has something to prove. He's tired of playing runner-up to his high-achieving brothers. So when the opportunity to enter the campaign comes up, he takes it. Even if it means running against the only woman he's ever loved. But with a little help from Harmony Harbor's (Marisol Nichols) local matchmakers & a lot of holiday cheer, Connor and Arianna may just get the happy ever after they both deserve.

    9. Thank you, kitkat, for sharing the source. There is a book title with the same name that has a same sex relationship, so that's probably what they saw.

However, there are other books with that similar title and as Anonymous shared above - there is a story by writer Debbie Mason with a "Holly and Ivy" title.

In fact, Debbie also wrote the book based on the movie, "Welcome to Christmas," which starred Eric Mabius and Jennifer Finnigan. So... this story it appears will be based on her book. (see story synopsis above^)

    2. Yeah, the list of "Fall Harvest" movies announced, so far, is kind of slim.

      Just two...

      Country at Heart - October 3, 2020
      Neverbrides - October 10, 2020

However, last year, we ended up with just two, as well... after they removed 2 other movies from the schedule.

Course, "Over the Moon in Love" wasn't really a Fall Harvest theme, so "Love, Fall and Order" was the only real "Fall Harvest" type movie.

You never know... they could still add or remove any movie - at any time!

  12. Was hoping to see a When Hope Calls announcement here. It looks like Hallmark is expanding their brand way too much, in my opinion. If they don't stick to the core of what made them popular to begin with, then they are going to lose people, including me.

Likely Lifetime will move up their launch of Christmas and Hallmark will completely scratch Fall Harvest like they did last year. I was hoping Fall Harvest would start in September so it wouldn't get pushed away for Christmas. I was so disappointed last year cause on HMM and Drama they were playing 24/7 Christmas for the 2 weeks of fall harvest. I couldn't even get into the fall harvest cause Christmas was on. Start it in September so the people that enjoy watching a movie with a campfire and hayrides and fall foliage can be happy.

  15. I'm missing Cindy Busby and Ryan Paevy in the above lists. Would like to see Paul Greene and Cameron Matthison, as well. I hope that Hallmark stays the course and doesn't get caught up in the game playing media and politics. It is simply pleasant to see a healthy love story....even when we can predict the ending. With this SIP in place for the long haul, Hallmark is a pleasant place to "fall".

    1. Hi Hunny! I know just what you mean!

As for all the actors, there are still lots of Christmas movie projects left to be announced, so I have a hunch we'll most likely see Ryan Paevey added to the list and hopefully Cindy Busby, Paul Greene (possibly "Christmas in Angel Falls 3") and Cameron Mathison, too! :)

So glad to see lots of my favorites mentioned. I'm sure more will be listed as time goes on. Didn't see Marc Blucas...you know Net that will upset me. LOl!! I must say for the first time EVER I don't see Andrew Walker and Alicia Witt as a good match as someone already mentioned. I always thought he would be good with anyone but I don't see this match. I'm also very happy to see more Mystery 101 coming! My favorite!!! Love that series! Thanks for all the updates Net!!

    1. Hello Joyce! I sure hope we see Marc Blucas again this year. "Holiday for Heroes" was such a big hit on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries last year. He plays those military roles so perfectly. It's kinda hard to imagine him in a different sort of role this year.

I'm also super excited about more "Mystery 101!" Jill and Kris are the best, plus, I really love the intrigue of *trying* to figure out who-dun-it in the mystery movies!

  18. Laura Osnes and Aaron Tveit together? My Broadway heart is freaking out and with Jeremy Jordan joining the Hallmark family I hope it means more singing.

I see multiple lead interracial couples this year which is moving in the diversity route.

I'll be interested to see the pairings still to come. Most of my favorites still without movies but i imagine it's harder for some of the actors to work out filming with family and quarantine.

    1. Glad to hear your excitement over all of this casting news, so far. It is interesting to see a mix of old and new faces, plus we know there is still a lot news to come! :)

  19. I’m concerned as well about some of the favorites that I’m not seeing. The movies and mysteries are missing quite a few I really like the Taylor Cole ones as well as the Chronicles although Alison Sweeney is back on Days of Our lives so she maybe to busy. Still disappointing

  20. Please stop with all the same reruns! So tired of it would rather just shut the tv off and not watch. We love hallmark because it takes away to a happy place. But all these reruns are just too much I also just took up watching Cedar Cove really like it bummed you canceled seriously we need to keep more shows like this

    1. Hello Iluvhallmark2!

I think there will be a lot more movie news to come as time goes by. I don't think "Ruby Herring" or "Chronicle Mysteries" are over, yet.

There was also no mention of "Crossword Mysteries" in the press release; however, Brennan Elliott has reassured his fans they plan to make more. So... a lot of info was left off the list and many things are still in development behind-the-scenes! :)

  22. Thanks for the update. Disappointed that there's no military movies. What happened to our favorite actors. Would like to see more When Hope Calls.

    1. Oh, you're welcome! I'm hoping we will still hear news on "When Hope Calls" season 2, and I'm still hoping, as well, for a military themed Christmas movie!

  23. Interested to see some new faces. While I like the old standbys, it's good to change it up. I agree with many of you that Hallmark shouldn't get political or take it too far. But that's what DVR is for. Still excited that they're filming again and can't wait to see the new movies and different chemistries. As for Alicia Witt, I've only seen her have good chemistry with three men, Teddy Sears, Gabriel Hogan and Brendan Hines. If Andrew Walker is anything like them, it will be a good movie.

    1. You know, the more and more I think about it... Andrew Walker is charming and quick-witted - so I think he and Alicia could be a fun on-screen match. You never know. She's such a blast in her movies when she's laughing, so I can totally see the two of them cracking up. I'm definitely going to be open minded about it - and who knows, it will probably have great ratings because everyone's so curious! :)

By the way, love the co-stars you mentioned, plus, I loved her with Mark Wiebe in "A Very Merry Mix-Up" and Colin Ferguson in "Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane!"

  24. It's a sad day when many are saying they actually want to see fewer Hallmark Christmas Movies.

It seems as if they aren't listening to their regular viewers although I do feel sorry for them as their hands are being tied and it's almost as if they are being forced to go in different directions.

Sad to say there are already a number of movies announced which my family just will not be watching.

    1. I want fewer movies cause back when they only had 12 new movies, they were good, well written, well thought out. Instead now we get to have the weakest most ridiculous reasons whey someone is stuck in a town with their old boyfriend they haven't seen since they left town. I wanted to like Holiday hearts last year, but really the reason why they had to watch the little girl was the most obnoxious stupid and ridiculous reason ever.

Call me crazy, but when Alice went to the "wrong" Mitchum house on A Very Merry Mix up, it may have been a tad silly, but I could really see that happening. Or Christmas Getaway, the cabin rental being rented to 2 people and then the car breaking down and having to stay, and then doing things together and falling in love. So much more creative. Nowadays it just seems the point of Christmas movies to Hallmark is how many we put on tv so that all the magazines will write about how amazing it is you made 750 new movies in a season. Sorry to be so blunt, but its like someone got together and said how can we have these people have to hang out for 3 days, lets say the kids otherwise health dad and is in good shape has knee surgery and will be hospitalized for a week. Really????? why not say he has to have something more serious that requires a hospital stay? And then say they visit him offscreen so they can show the couple fall in love?

    1. Yes, I am very disappointed... it appears in the new Hallmark Channel Summer Nights commercial - there will be two brides getting married in the movie "Wedding Every Weekend."

I was extremely disappointed to hear this news yesterday from my friend and then see the commercial myself. Sadly, as the world is going these days, I think this is going to happen more and more on the Hallmark Channel. As a believer and supporter of traditional marriage I will not be promoting this film on my site. Thank you for commenting and sharing.

    2. Thank you Net for your beliefs! I had asked a friend of mine if she saw the preview and what she thought it meant. Now I know! I won't be watching this either. I am wondering if that is why Andrew Walker left the movie he was supposed to be in and was replaced by Brendan Penny. Does anyone know?
