Storyline via Hallmark: Michael Sherman (Cain) is a lawyer and single father struggling to obtain more clients. Being a single working dad, Michael doesn't have time to think about a relationship or work on the classic car he inherited from his parents, but his friend Lauren (Blanchard) is a mechanic who helps rebuild the family heirloom and begins to fall for him. Michael (Cain) takes on a case that could make or break his career... and Christmas. The majority of the population is losing faith in Santa Claus (George Buza "X-Men") and the Christmas spirit. To make matters worse, Santa is served with a class action lawsuit for irreparable emotional distress by sporting-goods mogul Braxton Bennett (Barry Flatman "The Kennedys") who never received the holiday gifts he wanted as a child. Santa believes he has a strong case because Braxton was always on the naughty list and asked for gifts, like a yacht, that were unattainable. Santa hires Michael Sherman to represent him. Once the trial between Kris Kringle vs. Braxton Bennett begins, Michael finds it's much tougher defending Santa Claus than he had initially predicted. Braxton presents a case of Santa's neglect and the biggest gift giver in the universe has difficulty deflecting the accusations.

As Santa's public stock continues to plummet, the press makes Michael the laughing stock of litigators. Both Michael's and Santa's careers are in jeopardy and it will take a miracle for a pouting, overgrown kid like Braxton to come to the realization that Santa always gives the most appropriate gift possible to every child.

With Christmas only a few days away, Paige Summerland (Bure), a Los Angeles magazine writer specializing in relationship advice, boards an eastbound flight to spend the holiday with her fiancΓ©, Jack (Rosner), meet his parents for the first time and plan her upcoming “dream wedding.” Paige’s enthusiasm turns to panic when a massive snowstorm detours her flight and she meets - and locks horns with - Dylan (Greene), a cynical bar manager who has lost his faith in love. When it looks like all hope of arriving in New York for Christmas is lost, Dylan surprises Paige by renting an SUV and offering her a ride. Reluctantly, Paige braves the snowy road trip with Dylan, joined by Frank and Maxine Harper (Lewis and Strange), an older couple whose 20-year marriage has lost its spark. Along the journey, feelings start to develop between Paige and Dylan. Now, as the young bride-to-be scrambles to make it to New York for Christmas, she begins to wonder if she’s marrying the right man and just might learn a surprising lesson about love.

I hope you enjoy all three Christmas movies - airing on all three Hallmark networks!

My Christmas Movie Pick of the Week:

Ooooh... this one is hard to choose! I so enjoy "A Christmas Detour." I just love all the comedy moments added in with their traveling companions, Frank and Maxine. Plus, I just love everything Hallmark with Candace Cameron Bure and Paul Greene!

However, I also love Dean Cain and the little girl who plays his daughter in "The Case for Christmas!" Plus, last year, I instantly fell for Alison Sweeney and Lucas Bryant in "Time for You to Come Home for Christmas!"

I'm looking forward to watching all three movies this week! Sometimes I love a little lighthearted comedy and sometimes I like a heartwarming drama/mystery.

  1. I also enjoyed Time for You to Come Home For Christmas. I'll watch it again, as I've only seen it once. The other two movies were enjoyable too, but I've seen them a few times.

I now have UP channel, and enjoying those movies also.

Thanks for keeping us informed of all the movies. I look forward to your listings.

  3. A Christmas Detour is my pick for favorite. I love Candace and Paul. I'll be recording it.

The characters Frank and Maxine Harper were very funny, adorable, and albeit a little sad. Whoever wrote their dialog needs some sort of award. I watch it for the Harpers. Candace and Paul are a plus.

  5. The Baby Proposal

Layla Bennett has it all figured out, her own place, a thriving career and a loving fiancΓ©. She co-hosts morning show Wake Up Chicago! Alongside her charming but sometimes irritating colleague Derek Dray. They have different working styles. She likes to be spontaneous and improvise on air, while he’s more of a stick to the script guy. When they’re given the bombshell of caring for a baby together, it’s their worst nightmare…But as they juggle night feeds and nap times with their hectic lives, they can’t deny the growing chemistry. Is this unexpected arrival all they needed to realize they were meant to be?

  7. Christmas in Rome

What does it say on the Trevi Fountain?

    return to Rome!
a second coin you'll fall in love with an Italian.
three coins means you will marry an Italian.

    1. If you do a search for Trevi Fountain, various web-sites give wonderful details on the history and legends.

    2. According to legend, tossing one coin into the Trevi Fountain means you’ll return to The Eternal City (Rome), tossing two coins means you’ll return and fall in love, and tossing three coins means you’ll return, find love, and marry. Luck or no luck, your money goes to a good cause.

  8. Jim, You left a perfect movie to watch for your Christmas movie finale! It took me quite some time to get through them all too, but I didn't want to rush it. I tried to savor each and everyone - just like you!

The hardest part for me is deleting off the machine the Christmas movies I didn't really like. Even if they weren't my favorite, it's always kind of hard/sad to see them go.

Oh well... there are more great movies ahead! Right?

And now... that You've seen them all, you can go back and watch all of your favorite Christmas movies over again. It will always be... "Time for You to Come Home for Christmas" whenever you choose! :)

    1. "Christmas on Ice" (formerly titled: "A Christmas Piroutte") will most likely air during the holiday season since it has Christmas in the title and it is holiday themed.

    2. I hope that movie; “Christmas on Ice", will be given to Hallmark about figure skating

Figure skating is always on Hallmark

  12. Oh Jim, that's funny it took til mid may for you. I know when I was into January and I hadn't watched some, that was big for me cause I usually watched them by end of December. yes Net, it was hard deleting some movies, and even sadder that I found myself watching the 1st minute or 2 and deleting them. I was sad by that.

I just recently watched the last Mystery 101, and I still have the 2nd Martha Vineyard to watch, its been harder to get into some of the mysteries this year, as to me it has seemed way to obvious to figure out the killer in the 1st minutes. Its also hard with SO MANY new series, I wish they could just give us more of the core series instead of all the new ways to have 2 people get together to solve crimes.

I love both Danica and Victor Webster, but that series just doesn't do it for me, not at all. I wanted to like run=by herring, but it just didn't do it for me either. the thing is I watch A LOT of true crime, and it is just preposterous that Ruby could walk into the medical examiners office and start asking questions about the dead person. and the cop in that series tells her in one breath she cant be there, and then tells her stuff in the next. I like the Mystery 101's that right off the bat they have Amy as a consultant for police dept. then it doesn't feel so ridiculous, but a reporter, ruby, and one who was just doing lifestyle stuff and got promoted to reporter, no way. The people on Dateline get to get info after many many many years of investigative reporting. And Chronicle Mysteries I like cause it is more on the side of the investigative reporters, or podcasters researching stuff. But I don't see anymore Chronicle Mysteries being filmed, the one series that seemed a lot more realistic.
