UPtv PRESS RELEASE:

ATLANTA (May 29, 2020) - UPtv, the television destination for uplifting entertainment, announced today that the network will be the exclusive linear U.S. home to watch Heartland season 13. The new season of the fan-favorite series starts Thursday, June 4 at 8 p.m. ET.

Following each new episode of Heartland, UPtv will debut Hudson. This six-part bonus content is an original series set in the world of Heartland, following Jade Virani and her friends as they hang out together at Maggie’s diner and around the town of Hudson. The core of this series is the budding friendship/rivalry between Jade and a new waitress from the city, Sloane, along with Trace (one of Jade's friends from the rodeo school).

(NOTE FROM NET: I just learned that there is a homosexual character on the show, Hudson. I wanted to make sure you were all aware. My family and I will not be watching this series.)

Heartland, the longest running one-hour drama in Canadian television history, is set in the rolling foothills of the Rockies in the fictional town of Hudson, Alberta. The thirteenth season of Heartland follows life on the iconic Heartland ranch as Amy Fleming (Amber Marshall) and the family deal with the challenges of running a horse ranch, which has been in their family for six generations.

“Our audience has made clear to us that now more than ever they are seeking out feel-good, uplifting content the whole family can enjoy together,” said Hector Campos, vp of content strategy, programming, and acquisitions at UPtv. “Heartland is the perfect show for viewers, and season 13 will not disappoint new and returning fans alike. We’re thrilled to be the television home of both Heartland and Hudson.”

UP Faith & Family (UPFF), the UP Entertainment SVOD service, is the only place to catch up on all of the prior seasons of Heartland. The top-rated streamer is offering a no-commitment free selection of staff favorites, original feel-good films, and UPtv original series to help families during the COVID-19 global pandemic at https://upfaithandfamily.com/uplift/ as part of #OperationUplift.

Heartland is based on the bestselling series of books by Lauren Brooke. The executive producers are Michael Weinberg, Tom Cox, Jordy Randall, and Heather Conkie who also serves as the showrunner. The series is produced by Dean Bennett. The series writers are Heather Conkie, Mark Haroun, Ken Craw, and Alexandra Clarke. The season’s directors are Ken Filewych, Pierre Tremblay, Megan Follows, Eleanore Lindo, Chris Potter, Kristin Lehman and Dean Bennett. For CBC, Sally Catto is General Manager, Programming; Trish Williams is Executive Director, Scripted Content; Helen Asimakis is Senior Director, Scripted Content; and Melanie Hadley is Executive in Charge of Production.

  2. Hi Net! Just wanted to let you know that the one character on Hudson is actually gay... it's a shame that they have to add that into the show:(

    2. Me too. I stumbled upon the news on an old instagram post a while ago. It is disappointing, especially that Uptv is okay with airing it! Do you think they are aware?

    3. They surely are aware of this content. While most of their programming and movies are family-friendly, I have found some through the years that are not.

  4. Thanks for the heads up about Hudson, I've been turning it off after Heartland. I still enjoy Heartland but it also seems a little less "clean" than it used to be. :(

  5. I thought UpTV was a Christian/family channel up until Lou Flemming's openly gay cohort came on the screen! Makes me sick that they relate Christian with homosexuality, it don't relate!!!

  6. Very disappointed to turn on Heartland and see the introduction of a gay character! I thought this was a Christian network and it would be family friendly. This is very confusing to explain to children. I am very sad and will not be watching anymore.
