HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020 from NET at It's a Wonderful Movie!!!

image via: New Years YouTube video

To all my dear friends here... I want to extend a very Happy, Blessed, Healthy, Peaceful New Year to You and Yours! I treasure each of you who visit here, and I pray this new year will hold many wonderful things for each of us!

Unfortunately, the New Years movie we were all anticipating on the Hallmark Channel at the end of 2019, "A New Year's Resolution," starring Aimee Teegarden and Michael Rady, was removed from their schedule line-up and app without explanation.

I'm anticipating, at this time, we'll have to wait until next year around New Year’s to see this movie. I spoke to one of my contacts at Hallmark and was informed they do not have a rescheduled air date for this movie at this time.

I know many of you are such big fans (as I am) of Michael Rady, since "A Joyous Christmas," and like myself, you were very much looking forward to this film. If I hear any further news, at all, I'll be certain to let you know.

There is also no listing on the schedule this year for "Royal New Year's Eve," however it is available on DVD and Prime Video.

If you have Hallmark Drama, you can see this classic Hallmark New Years Eve movie on December 31st...

"A Kiss at Midnight" airs at 9pm/8c.

*HAPPY NEW YEAR!*

As we say goodbye to 2019 and welcome in the new year, 2020... a whole new decade lies ahead full of possibilities! I pray we cherish meaningful times of the year past and make wonderful moments and memories in the new year to come!

My focus here at It's a Wonderful Movie will continue to be and always be sharing family friendly entertainment. We don't know which way this year will lead us, but I pray for direction in our lives each day.

May you be surrounded by love and warmth and an abundance of joy, friendship, and happiness in 2020!

God bless you and your family in this New Year! Net

  2. It's too bad New Years themed movies aren't playing today and tomorrow on the regular channel. Besides the two you mentioned, there is no "A Rose for Christmas" or "A Midnight Kiss." I too was saddened that "A New Year's Resolution" has been pulled. I'm not surprised though. As many have mentioned, I've come to expect this from Hallmark. Now I don't really care, previews and on locations and pictures mean little when the movie isn't shown; so I don't get excited about new Hallmark releases and news like I used to. Maybe that's good because it leaves time for more important things! :) But I do think Aimee and Michael will make a stellar pair, they both are terrific favorites of mine. :)

    1. Yes, I thought of "A Midnight Kiss," too, right after I posted this, but unfortunately, as you said, it is not going to be played this year... plus, I also do not see it on DVD, yet! Wonder why they didn't decide to air it. It's quite disappointing that they have these few New Year's themed movies and only one is being shown on Hallmark Drama. And nothing on the main channel, which most people have.

It is, I agree, hard to look forward to movies when we don't know which movies will be pulled. I, too, think Aimee and Michael will be magnificent, so whenever they decide to finally air it, I'll be there!

  4. It's New Year's Eve! Its New Year’s EVE Resolutions & it’s time for you to write it down for your New Year’s Resolutions just before clock strikes at Midnight - Happy New Year 2020

It’s officially New Year’s resolution season & perhaps you have decided that this is the year to get in gear and improve an area of your life.

With the hype surrounding New Year’s Eve, it’s easy to think that as soon as the clock strikes twelve, a new you is born. But true change doesn’t happen like that. Much like waking up the day after your birthday and not feeling any older, January 1st will not make you a different person from the one you were a day before. Expecting change & actually working to make change are two very different things and only one will help you to achieve your goals.

Before you decide to make a New Year’s resolution make sure that you are willing to really put in the work & commit to making a change in your life.

    1. That is so true. The clock has nothing to do with changing us. It's simply one minute changing to the next. When we want to change ourselves, it must come from within... whether it's exercising our mind, spirit or body!

Thank you for sharing this uplifting, encouraging message!

    1. Yes, it would've been nice if Hallmark had played all of these New Year's themed movies this year. "A Kiss at Midnight" is the only one airing on Hallmark Drama. Maybe next year they'll play more!

  7. Happy New Year, Net! thank you so much for your wonderful site and all the great information you share.

I'm wondering if Hallmark was dissatisfied with the quality of the new New Year's film for some reason...hard to imagine why else it would be pulled.

Best wishes for a Happy 2020!!

    1. Laura, Thank you for your message. Happy New Year to You! I love visiting your blog, too, for classic movie news!

I haven't heard the reason, yet, for Hallmark pulling their New Year's movie, but there must have been some last minute reversal decision made. Maybe it just wasn't ready...editting, etc.... we just don't know. The same exact thing happened with two of the Fall Harvest movies.

Blessings to you in 2020!!! Net

    2. That's a great point, Net -- they seem to have cut the timing very close this year on some of their movies. If they simply couldn't be ready in time hopefully we'll see them at the end of 2020!

      Best wishes,
      Laura

    3. My guess on this movie as well as the others that were pulled is that they spent too much money in 2019, so they have banked like 6 or 7 movies that wont use the 2020 budget to film.

  9. Happy New Years to you, dear Net! I am SO thankful you are there doing what you do and it is comforting to know that you have a contact person at Hallmark. Do you know if there was spiritual content in the movie you mentioned? I am just trying to figure out if Hallmark is moving even farther in the wrong direction. I am SO hoping they will reverse their decision to start making movies that are not family-friendly and in alignment with our Christian/Biblical values. Oh, how we need to be in prayer about these things! Prayer is the most valuable thing we can do. May your 2020 be filled with many, many blessings, Net!

    1. Cheryl, I'm SO GRATEFUL for your support here! This has been an usual season, but I'm so glad we are held together by our faith.

I don't believe the movie being pulled had anything to do with content. It may have been an editing issue or they simply decided to wait until next year to air it. Unfortunately, no explanation has been given, so we'll just have to wait and see.

I am praying along with you, about the future of Hallmark. I am deeply concerned that family friendly entertainment may end up being something of the past. We'll keep praying together. Prayer changes things!
