I hope you all enjoy this first full weekend of December! There are certainly lots of new holiday movies to put you into the Christmas spirit! I'll probably be busy Christmas shopping, etc... on Saturday, but I plan to watch some new movies over the weekend with my family, too!
Must see for me, personally, this weekend is ALL of the Hallmark musical movies. I just love music and singing... so the combination of a musical movie, for me, is heavenly! How I wish I could binge watch all the movies all at once, but I'm sure I'll have to record many to watch later on.
With a song in my heart...
Christmas Blessings to You All, Net

let us shout aloud

Totally agree with you, Net! I'm so excited about this Hallmark musical movie weekend! I, too, love music and singing, so combine that with two of my other favorite things...Hallmark movies and Christmas...it is indeed heavenly, as you said! I'm also going to a Christmas cantata tonight and a Christmas concert tomorrow featuring Christian music group Selah, so I have a very musical weekend ahead of me!
ReplyDeleteMy weekend actually started last night when I got to witness the breaking of a world record, previously set by Hallmark, for number of illuminated Christmas trees in one place! The previous record set by Hallmark in Manhattan was 559 trees. Now a little city in Michigan holds the record at 676 trees! It was a spectacular sight and so exciting to be there!
WOW Amy!!!... That sounds amazing! What a beautiful sight! What an incredible event to see so many Christmas trees light up IN PERSON! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us! Hope you enjoyed the cantata and the Selah concert. I've always loved their song, "Press On."
DeleteI sure wish some of the other networks would have shown theirs earlier this month! I am most looking forward to the Hallmark ones and I don't like how they have them on the same nights again. I don't have DVR.
ReplyDeleteMisty
Agreed, Misty... I can only watch one program at a time, too, so it makes it hard to choose. And then I have to look for encore showings, which thankfully, is doable, but gets increasingly harder to keep up with - since we have lots of movies this year. Thank goodness for repeat showings. :)
DeleteNet: A little slow with a comment at this busy season. BYU "The Christmas Jarrs" and "A very Corgi Christmas" were very good family movies and they run them without commercials. Two very good movies on BYU.
ReplyDeleteNo commercials is SO nice!! Thanks for the heads up, Jersey Joe! Both of these movies are in my watch list.
Delete"Christmas Jars" looks so heartfelt and inspirational.....I'm looking forward to it!
Hello Jersey Joe! Glad you enjoyed both BYU movies! There are still on my to-watch-list. Looking forward to watching them both now! :)

ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI am way behind on these Christmas movies (probably only watched about 8 on H, 2 on HMM, & 0 on Lifetime so far). I am thankful that I have frndlytv.com now as it will give me more time to watch Christmas movies. As of 12/05/19, it now has UPtv :). So, for romantic family-friendly movies, my new channels are UPtv,HMM, HD, and PixL.
Over Thanksgiving weekend, my cable TV provider had several pay channels on as part of a free preview. I don't ever plan to have these channels but was curious as to whether they would have Christmas movies. I found one on Showtime that I believe may be my favorite I have seen so far this season:
Christmas at the Chateau (similar title to the one mentioned on this site but not the same)
Rated TVPG • 97 minutes
Three sisters try to save the Shakespeare Chateau, a historic mansion and beloved family home, from a corrupt bank that threatens to foreclose on Christmas Day. But things get complicated when one of them falls in love with one of the bankers.
It is a common premise of romance movies with a twist. It is definitely worth checking out. I found it to be family-friendly but watch with caution as I may have forgotten
something. If any of you have seen this movie, I am curious to know whether you enjoyed it too.
Question: I have looked for two Christmas movies on TV but haven't seen them yet. Any idea why a new one, Christmas Camp, and an older one, Comfort and Joy (2003)with Nancy McKeon haven't been on? I know I could get Comfort and Joy on DVD but thought with Kim Fields producing one with Facts of Life actresses in it that it would air again. I wish channels that air old Christmas movies do a better job of airing sequels back-to-back or actress/actor marathons. It must be hard to determine what and when to air what movies, so I would think doing the above would make it easier.
That is great news that you now have UPtv on frndlytv! I know many people are enjoying this streaming service. Now you'll have lots of options when it comes to watching Christmas movies!
DeleteI've watched a mix, too, of all the networks, and I still have plenty more to see! I've enjoyed many new ones this year, especially Christmas Town, A Christmas Love Story, A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love and many others!
Thank you for suggesting the movie, Christmas at Chataeu. Sounds cute with the 3 sisters... I'll be sure to keep a look out for it! :)
