Amelia portrayed as European Ann & Philip portrayed as Joe Bradley from Roman Holiday
ReplyDeleteAudrey Hepburn & Gregory Peck’s European Princess Ann & Joe Bradley
European princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn) takes off for a night while in Rome. When a sedative she took from her doctor kicks in, however, she falls asleep on a park bench and is found by an American reporter, Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck),who takes her back to his apartment for safety. At work the next morning, Joe finds out Ann's regal identity and bets his editor he can get exclusive interview with her, but romance soon gets in the way.
I love a good, classic Audrey Hepburn movie on TCM, so I'm also loving the plot of this story. Italia Ricci is a wonderful look-alike to portray an Audrey character in this. Can't wait to see if there are parallels in their love story to the original Roman Holiday movie! Definitely riding the motorized scooter through Rome would be one!
DeleteAs a lover of classic movies,I truly hope this is done to a "Hallmark Gold Crown" standard. Roman Holiday is such a favorite of mine. I was glad to read here that it is not a remake, but a movie about the actress making a remake. Costumes look gorgeous. Venue is magnificant. Has a great story. I enjoy watching Italia Ricci. Definitely, has many positives going for it! Will watch to see!
DeleteI'm looking forward to this movie! I'm not going to compare the actors. I'm just going to enjoy what they bring to the roles in the movie.
ReplyDeleteWow! Hallmark movies filmed in Fiji(x2), France, now Italy - am I missing one location?
Hi Namegirl, I love your perspective... let's just enjoy it!
DeleteAs for Hallmark film locations, I'll add Africa to the list, which is where Lacey Chabert filmed Love on Safari!
And... Sun, Sand, and Romance, with Tricia Helfer, Paul Campbell and Sadie Robertson was filmed in Cancun, Mexico!
Now, if they could just film one Christmas movie at the North Pole!!! :)

ReplyDeleteIsn’t this Italia Ricci’s 2nd Movie since LATE BLOOMER?
ReplyDelete"Late Bloomer" was actually a Pixl movie (see here), but like Hallmark, Pixl movies are lighthearted and family-friendly; so, they definitely have the same feel.
DeleteI really enjoy Peter Porte and Italia Ricci. The set for this was stunning...really interesting. I did find it hard to connect to the storyline and I felt the movie was a little slow. I'm not sure why. To preface, I have never seen Roman Holiday. I wonder perhaps if I saw the original I would connect more pieces and see the parallels. I didn't feel the chemistry between the two main characters, sadly! I do enjoy them both in other films.
ReplyDeleteHello Amanda! You are so right! There are definitely some parallels in the Rome in Love / Roman Holiday stories. I've seen the classic and in their original Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck rode on a scooter, visited the incredible sites, danced, etc... The main difference of the movies is the ending, which of course, Hallmark ends happily. For me, I was beginning to see Peter Porte and Italia Ricci falling in love, but it was wrapped up so quickly, I wanted to see more!
DeleteAudrey Hepburn was wonderful in the original, but I do prefer the happily-ever-after ending in Rome in Love much better.
I missed seeing the Trevi fountain in Rome in Love. That's one of the main things you want to see when you're in Rome. I know I did 50 years ago when I was there!
