    1. So glad you found the Lifetime Christmas movies on Friday, Chris! It was such a fantastic marathon of movies throughout the day - many favorites! Unfortunately, Lifetime's Christmas in July only lasted one day, but you can see Christmas movies on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries now! :)

  4. Wow. This is fantastic. Lifetime and Hallmark are spoiling us Christmas movie lovers. I like being spoiled, though, so I hope they have more good news for all of us soon. Merry Christmas in July and beyond, everybody.

  6. I wonder how many new movies Lifetime is planning on premiering? Yikes. I never imagined that they would go to a 24/7 schedule starting in October, just like Hallmark. I keep thinking "That can't be real. Maybe they will change their minds!" lol

Well, one thing is clear here. Lifetime must have recognized that their bigger & better Christmas event last year was a success, despite having some very stiff, steady competition from Hallmark -- BUT they also must have noticed that they were losing some viewers on the days when they were not airing Christmas movies in Nov-Dec. A lot of viewers probably headed back to Hallmark to watch movies when Lifetime switched to its regular programming in between rounds of Christmas.

So now, Lifetime is coming out swinging, ready to do an all-Christmas schedule too, to try to keep viewers from heading back to Hallmark, I guess.

Hallmark programs two channels with all new movies. Lifetime has more than one channel, but I tend to think that Lifetime will just put new Christmas movies on only one channel, so they will not match or exceed Hallmark's total of 40 movies -- BUT I would not be shocked if they premiere 24, to match what Hallmark has on the Hallmark Channel. IF Lifetime does that, then I will not be shocked if Hallmark raises the stakes and adds another couple of movies onto their total for the year.

  7. I'm excited to see what Lifetime brings this year. They've had the top movies i feel over the last couple of years. The Christmas Contract, Poinsettias for Christmas, Snowed Inn Christmas and Christmas in Mississippi easily beat 90% of what Hallmark produced. (based on would i buy or recommend to others) It'll be entertaining at least and actor selection will go a long way in choosing which ones i spend my time on.
