Let's "MARK" THE 25th!
Today, June 25th...is only 6 months until December 25th, Christmas Day... 182 days and so many hours and minutes, according to my Countdown Clock!!!
To commemorate this special time here at It's a Wonderful Movie... I'll share which Christmas movie I have chosen to watch on the 25th, and for those of you who would like to participate, please share which Christmas movie/program you are watching on the 25th - in comments below!
On this June 25, 2018, I am watching-
Holiday Engagement
Hallmark Crown Media |
Holiday Engagement storyline via Hallmark: Jilted by her high-powered fiancé just before Thanksgiving, and terrified of disappointing her demanding mother (Shelley Long), Hillary Burns (Bonnie Somerville) hires David (Jordan Bridges), an unemployed artist to pretend to be her fiancé over the holiday weekend. She soon discovers however, that the hired replacement may not be a replacement after all – but the real thing.
Due to this being the end of Hallmark's June Weddings month, I thought "Holiday Engagement" would be a fun, entertaining movie to watch - because it includes an engagement and a wedding! If you want a movie that will make you laugh and bring a smile to your face, this one is pretty much guaranteed to do just that!
"Holiday Engagement" is an absolute riot, an unforgettable wonderful treat, from the moment Hillary (Bonnie Somerville) is dumped by her boyfriend, Jason, and schemes with her best friend on taking a pretend fiancé, David (Jordan Bridges), home for Thanksgiving! The scene where Hillary and David, I mean Jason (wink! wink!), sing together at the piano is my favorite, along with the restaurant hilarity, insightful sister scenes, planning a pretend wedding, surviving a bridezilla at the bridal shop, an exploding turkey, and so much more! Through it all... somehow Hillary finds true love, but with which Jason?... the real one, or the guy pretending to be him? If you don't know, you'll have to watch "Holiday Engagement" to see!
Unfortunately, this movie won't be shown in July, but you can see lots of other wonderful Hallmark Christmas movies being shown then, including other Christmas weddings, such as: "A Royal Christmas," "A December Bride," "Christmas with Holly," "A Princess for Christmas," "Marry Me at Christmas," "Snow Bride," and more! Yes! We are at the halfway point - 6 months down, 6 to go! Christmas will be here before we know it! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteFor my movie pick today, I am going with another of my favorite Hallmark ones - Snow Bride. Although yes, Hallmark is showing this later in July, I just feel like watching this one today.
As an aside, since there is another Mark posting, to avoid confusion, at Net's suggestion, I am going to sign my posts off as "Mark 25".
A very merry halfway-to-Christmas, everybody!
Mark 25
Awwwwe... YES.... excellent choice, Mark! I love that movie! "Snow Bride" is such a fun, entertaining movie that I typically enjoy multiple times throughout the year and Christmas season! It's also a perfect pick - with that June Weddings feel!
DeleteAnd, Mark 25 is perfect... we'll always know that's you!!! :)
Happy halfway to Christmas to you & all, Net
Good choice Net, I may watch this too. This movie is both funny and sweet. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteOh, so glad you love it, too, Sabrina! Bonnie and Jordan are pure magic in this movie together! :)
DeleteLove this movie...I'm actually thinking of watching later on today when I get home from work :)
ReplyDeleteYay!!! Another "Holiday Engagement" watcher!!! Enjoy watching!!! :)
DeleteHappy "Mark the 25th" day!!! Net
Have great news for you Net, Christmas is only 6 mos away, not 8! You have 8 mos in your post. Just a friendly notice of the typo:)
ReplyDeleteYes, that was a typo! Thank you! I've corrected it above... Hard to believe we've reached the halfway point! :)
DeleteHello everybody. It's the 25th again. I am going to watch Christmas Magic, a Hallmark Christmas movie from 2011. It is among my favorites. Tender and uplifting, this is a great movie to watch if you need your spirits uplifted. It stars Lindy Booth, Paul McGillion, and one of my favorite actors, Derek McGrath. He is great at playing characters with hidden depths. I highly recommend this film. Happy 25th everybody.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mark, for joining in the 25th Christmas movie watching! "Christmas Magic" is a very sweet, touching movie pick. Lindy Booth has truly become the Christmas movie regular! She's a real joy to watch!
DeleteEnjoy the movie... thank you for sharing! :)
That is one of my favorites too! Great Choice! June 25th exactly 6 months until Christmas! I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm glad you love "Holiday Engagement," too! Guess we'll have to wait until the Christmas season to see it on Hallmark, again! So happy I have it on DVD!
DeleteThanks for all you do to keep Christmas in our minds, which is only 6 months away from today :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you're welcome! It's all so exciting! Even though we are halfway, Christmas feels so close! :)
DeleteNet, that's a great idea and I'm joining you to watch Holiday Engagement. We watched Christmas in Conway a few nights ago. Got a head start!
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas enthusiasm, Joyce! I get in the spirit every once in awhile, too, and randomly choose a favorite! Thanks for joining in on the "Mark the 25th" fun! Enjoy watching "Holiday Engagement" once again!!! "Angels we have heard on high..." :)
DeleteI have to say, I have been watching a Christmas Hallmark movie every single day/night since we did the April 25th edition of a Christmas movie on the 25th.
DeleteI ended up watching......The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, since I had not watched in a while, and then watched Snowed Inn Christmas, I just love Andrew Walker and sine I just saw him on Saturday night in WM4, I had him on my mind :)
I watch them quite often, too, Sabrina! They bring me such joy - so why not? Right? In fact, I just re-watched "Finding Santa" with Jodie Sweetin... and it is just that - very sweet! :)
DeleteI haven't watched "Snowed-Inn Christmas" since Christmas... I really need to re-watch that one again!
Whew, Net, I've been so busy trying to get everything finished so I can enjoy the first weekend of Christmas movies, uninterrupted, I almost forgot "The 25th"!! Tonight, I need some belly laughs and fun so I'm watching "Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade" and combining two holidays in one!!
ReplyDeleteI know just what you mean, Linda! I'm trying to get lots of things done, in advance, as well... plus clear up some space on my recorder. How does it get so full, so fast?
DeleteLove, Love, Love your movie choice, "Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade!" It will always be one of my favorites, too! Autumn Reeser is truly incredible in it, as well as Antonio Cupo! Enjoy!!!
I can hear it now! "Chicago... Chicago..."
Net, wouldn't it be great if we had a "Wedding at the Thanksgiving Day Parade" sequel?? That would be awesome!! I haven't seen Antonio in a few years and I miss him...
DeleteYes, I would love to see Henry and Emily's wedding - at the Parade! That would be fantastic, and of course Emily would wear the most gorgeous vintage wedding gown!
DeleteAs for Antonio, I saw that he & Autumn- actually just recently did another project together. It was a thriller or something, so not a Hallmark production, but it was still kinda fun to see them on set working together again! :)
Love Holiday Engagement! But I am going to watch A Bride For Christmas tonight!
ReplyDeleteLove that you are going with the June Weddings Christmas movie theme... How fun! :)
DeleteAwe, Jim... that is true devotion. I'm sure your anticipation deepens with each passing day! They're getting increasingly closer now!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI watched one that I hadn't seen before, "Fir Crazy." I had seen it listed plenty of times, but never got around to watching it. I enjoyed it as it was a little different than some of the themes that we see today. I also enjoyed having Colin Mochrie in it, outside of his usual improv comedy. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a terrific movie, Brent! I love Fir Crazy! The gift shop line at the end is so sweet. There's a lot of wonderful, touching moments in this movie- with giving back to the homeless and those in need. A truly beautiful movie and wonderful love story. I'm glad to hear how much you enjoyed it, too!
DeleteBlessings, Net
