I sincerely "hope" you all have a lovely weekend... as you end it visiting Hope Valley!

Just for fun, I was wondering what gift I would give the happy couple in that particular time period, if I had the opportunity. I'm thinking a beautiful wedding ring quilt would be nice, as it would be a reminder of their wedding day and the vows they took to one another; it would also keep them warm on those cold winter days, and it would hopefully be a treasured keepsake they could pass on to future generations.

What gift would you give Jack & Elizabeth, if it was possible, in that day and age... the early 1900's? Please share in comments below!

Enjoy the Wedding, Everyone!
Blessings on your weekend, Net

  1. My first thought was toaster! LOL! But, you said to go with the time period. Guess I'll give them a cast iron skillet, like the one my Grandmother had.

  2. I love that gift. I'll choose a family Bible so that they can share their heritage with future generations.

  4. I would give Jack and Elizabeth a mantel clock for their new home . It could remind them that even though time passes a true love is steadfast and true !

A Bassett Hound puppy just like Rip. Everyone needs a little "puppy love"!

  7. My first thoughts were a wedding ring quilt or Family Bible, as I thought about this too over the week. Those are taken, so I will go with a dual gift of a beautiful oil lamp light with oil, and an embroidered framed picture of a verse or quote about keeping your light lit, or "Love's eternal flame" .

  8. The wedding was just beautiful, a beautiful and wonderful episode, and I am so happy it happened mid season so we can see The Thornton's as husband and wife before the long break til season 6.
