    2. Regardless of why "Martin" and "John" won't be returning, they helped make the show. I love Candice but that series needs them. Not crazy about "Robin" as a replacement. Just doesn't work. You've lost me. Not e even finishing the show. Changing channels now.

      Delete
    3. From the "book" perspective they got married and "Martin" died. I guess they just decided to write him off instead.

    4. I totally agree with you! If Martin doesn't come back to this series, neither will I..

    5. Taking Martn and John out was HORRIBLE! I AM LOSING MY LOVE FOR THIS SHOW! PLEASE--PUT THEM BOTH BACK IN!

    6. I want Martin and John back. It is getting quite DULL!

    7. I agree completely. Martin and Roe were perfect together. I liked the fit. There was no chemistry between Candace and Niall. I dont think I will be watching anymore.

    8. Reading these comments I take no one has watched since the professor arrived the show is amazing great movies and the new love interest is a perfect fit for the Auroa character.

    9. Well... since some of these comments were fresh after Martin left, I do wonder if some viewers have come back to check out the changes. After the second new movie this August, I'm finally getting used to Professor Nick Miller with Aurora - and I'm liking the two of them paired together romantically and crime-solving!

      Thank you for sharing! :)

    10. Aurora's new love interest just have no real chemistry the show needs John and Martin desperately. Don't really care for the show anymore and was once their#1 fan

    11. I have watched each and every Aurora Teagarden movies. I don't think there is any chemistry between Roe and Nick. Sorry! Since the movies aren't following the romances accurately, they should bring back Yannick Bisson. Martin and Roe had a LOT of chemistry.

      Delete
    12. Sorry I totally disagree.

Roe and Martin had absolutely no spark between them while Roe and Nick are two halves of a whole.

      Delete
    13. I think they should bring Yannick Bisson's character back. I really enjoyed watching Martin alongside Aurora and I wish we knew more about Martin... But I also think Nick is a good match for her. They do have a lot of chemistry. My least favourite was Robin, I just can't see it. And I really miss John, he was brilliant.

    14. Everything I've read has said that Aurora and Martin got married, but in comments earlier it said they were waiting to see the wedding. If the wedding didn't take to happen how can Roe and Martin be married before he died? And her second husband after Martin be Robin. How can there be a second when there was no first husband?

  2. Why isn't John in this movie? Did I miss something?

    1. It is explained in the beginning of the movie that John has moved to be nearer to his grandchildren and Aida says she couldn't imagine herself ever marrying John, anyway. :(

I was personally disappointed to hear this dialogue, because I like John's character, portrayed by actor Bruce Dawson, very much in the Aurora series. He's always been such a big help to Aurora with solving cases, along with Sally, albeit not always as enthusiastic as her uncle, but still... she's Aurora's bestie, which is what every crime solving girl needs!

As for John, perhaps, they wanted to open the door for Aida to have other love interests, and it's always possible that he could return one day, in a future Aurora movie!

      Let's hope! :)

    2. I have loved all the Aurora Tea Garden movies except this one. It just did not have that really perfect balance of humor, drama and romance that the other episodes had. I was disappointed. I really missed John and Sally. Martin will truly be missed.

    3. I agree. I did not like this, nor finish it. Loved the precious Sally...and John. Also I do not care for Aurora's boyfriend, no chemistry there. This movie lacked, well, everything charming and fun.
The early shows were much better.

    4. Well this was OK. But I too miss john, Sally and Martin. I sure hope they do not kill off Martin. I like him better with Roe than Robin. All in all, I love the movie series and record and watch them over & over when I want a good mystery / romance movie.

    5. No John, no Sally and now no Martin equals no more watching Aurora Teagarden mysteries for me.

    7. I don't know if it was Yannick Bisson'choice to leave the show, but
they couldn'find a better choice to
      play opposite Candace,he is charming
      and charismatic and brought something
special to the show,I'm not sure if I
will be as interested in the show even though I really like Candace....

      Delete
    8. According to a comment Candace made, it was Yannick's decision to leave. He was wonderful in the show and will definitely be missed by Aurora fans.

    9. She can always say he is coming back! Listen to your audience. I just turn it off now. I also do like "Dartow s d Darrow"!

    10. I loved Martin and Roe! No chemistry with the professor. Is Sally leaving too? I liked John too. Losing interest in show...

      Delete
    11. Sally is not leaving, as far as I know. She seems to be staying with the series as Roe's best friend and true confidante.

I do miss John, though, and would still love to see Bruce Dawson return one day. He was a great opposite for Aida, especially since they had their little conflict over the Real Murders Club.

    4. How Martin left the Aurora Teagarden movies...

At the end of the Aurora movie "Last Scene Alive," Martin leaves to go on a mission in South America to search for his missing friend and his family, who are in trouble.

Then, in the Aurora movie "Reap What You Sew," at the very beginning - Aurora shares with her mother that she misses Martin, and she goes on to say - she can't believe he went back to the CIA, but she knows he wants to serve his country. That's it. That's where their love story ended. Martin has left Aurora by his own choosing, and she has to move on with her life without him. I do think it would've been nice to remind viewers of this in one of the following Aurora films, especially when Aurora first met Nick, Niall Matter's character.

      Hope this information helps.

    1. I know, I missed both John and Sally, too, who have been with the series since day #1! This movie was good, but not quite the same without them!

As for the Martin & Aurora wedding... unfortunately, that will not be happening, after all, since Yannick is not returning to the Aurora series. His character, Martin, is traveling to South America to search for his missing friend, and his family. It is sad now to say goodbye to his character.

    4. I agree. As I stated before, it didn't seem to end right, with him just leaving. You become vested in the characters and their relationships, that it's like a death in the family.

    5. Why is Yannick not coming back? Even though he has his other show they can still work with his schedule. Movies are not filmed in sequence so he cpuld.come back for 2 weeks and just film all his scenes then. I am gonna miss his character...it was perfect for the show. It seems like either these are gonna end too or they have to start over, since 3 main character are gone!!! Not a happy fan at all.

    6. I know, Courteney. Many fans are disappointed. It was, unfortunately, the actor's decision to leave at this time.

Sally is back, but unfortunately, John has still moved away. They really need to bring him back to the show, especially since Martin is gone now.

    7. Please bring Martin back---heard you let him go! He was perfect for Aurora! John was a good actor too! Why the changes? People like the familiar characters. Thank you for considering my request! BJ

    8. I totally agree Bring Martin's character back. Even if it's just once a year he is the perfect match to Aurora. John was a good fit for rounding out the 4 main characters. Sad when the right combination changes and fans have to live with the results.

    1. Lori, In the beginning of this movie, Aurora shares with her library co-worker, Lillian, that she received an offer on the house that was too good to pass up, so she sold it. She also added, with all the murders that had taken place there, the home was starting to feel cursed.

      Hope this info helps! :)

    3. So is the Martin character not coming back. If so I will no longer look at the episodes. Little upset John did not return. I see a post about no Sally. Is she gone also?

    4. Tammy, That's correct... the actor who portrays the character, Martin, Yannick Bisson, has decided to leave the "Aurora" series, so... for now, they last left us with Martin leaving to search for his friend and his family in South America. I'm not sure where they will take his character next. Perhaps, Martin will go missing, as well, or sadly, maybe the character will be killed. Either way, I know this is disappointing news for "Aurora" fans who loved Martin and Aurora together.

I do have some good news, though! Sally (love her!) is returning for this new movie, and hopefully we will see more of her in upcoming "Aurora" movies, as well!

      Delete
    5. After reading the books the character of Martin was killed off. I was really hoping they wouldn't do that with the movies as Yannick is such a great match for Aurora as Martin. Even though in the books she gets remarried to Robin just didn't feel like there was any chemistry there. Both good actors, just no chemistry. Really hope they put more effort into trying to get Yannick back!

    6. I was looking high and low to find out why Martin and John was scrapped. With those 2 gone the show went in a different direction There was real chemistry between them, I enjoyed watching them. Great support for Aurora. Her character changed she lost that sweetness she portrayed.

      Delete
    7. It certainly does have a different feel without Martin and John in the Aurora movies. Since the actor, Yannick Bisson, who portrays the character, Martin, decided to leave the "Aurora" series, many viewers have been uncertain about the future of this mystery. It does seem (almost) like an entirely different movie now, except for Sally, her Mother, the Police, and some members of the club. I think some new interest has been sparked now that Niall Matter has joined the show, but for me personally, that potential romance feels a little forced. If Martin is not coming back, I would like to see Robin return once again.

  7. The storylines have been changed in the book to movie about Aurora Teagarden's Husband is Martin Bartell's death to the actress named Celia who protrayed as Aurora Teagarden in the movie so, is Peter Weir protrayed as Robin Daniels too but the real Aurora & Robin are out there.

It's doesn't mentioned Martin Bartell proposes his girlfriend; Aurora Teagarden when they're get married.

Candace Cameron Bure said Lexa had to shoot a TV Show & she''ll be back as Sally in Aurora Teagarden Mystery 8 & 9

    1. Actually in the books, Martin died back in A Fool and His Honey, which the movie was called A Bundle of Trouble. I think Celia died in the book Last Scene Alive. In the books, The Martin/Roe love story comes on very fast and I thought maybe Hallmark toned it down because it is Hallmark and like they did that.
I really recommend the books, Charlaine Harris is a great writer, although I haven't caught any of her other series. But she is wonderful in the aurora series.

  10. I don’t think the series captures Charlaine Harris’ stories quite the same, but are cute. I do not like them changing Martin’s story, as bitter sweet as it was.. As for John, I personally would love to see him return. He was such a great character in the series, as Sally's Uncle, a member of the Real Murder's Club with Aurora, and a love interest to Aida.

  18. Not only does Aurora benefit from a stable relationship with a strong but EQUAL male, views benefit from seeing a relationship that works. The book-line may not be as suitable for "viewing" audiences. We need to see Martin return to the show in this time of such weak relationships.

  19. I agree. These Hallmark movies already stray from the books so there is no need to kill off Martin as in the book and I think Yannick’s portray of Martin was a terrific match for the Aurora character. I think Hallmark should think again about note having Yannick return — how taking him out of the series is going to be a big mistake. Having Aurora just keep “dating” different men iOS so shallow to the Aurora character. Removing Yannick / his character, Martin, is a mistake. And why remove the John character; he was enjoyable just like Sally. John and Aurora’s Mother dudn’t Have to marry but he could have stayed on. I did not enjoy this recent Teagarden movie — it was very different - too much darkness about it. Aurora’s Mom was acting almost like a dating high schooler rather than the classy lady she has been. Martin was acting very insecure about his relationship w/Aurora which didn’t fit his secure character. So, with the 2 missing cast members who are the ones who lend a bit of lightness to Aurora’s intensity, the overall gloomy tone and setting of this most recent episode, and the fact that the antagonist was already known from the beginning because that actor always plays the bad guy in Hallmark movies so that gave it away immediately, this gets a poor from me. And not bringing Martin back whether it’s in the book or not — in my opinion stinks. Yannick was a great addition to this cast. As I said they stray from what is written in the books all the time.

Could hardly wait to see the episode in which Aurora and Martin get married. He was a perfect match for her character. I was shocked and disappointed to read that he was killed off. Same reaction to the news that John won't be returning either. Well, Guess what, Hallmark...I won't be returning either. I appreciate the fact that the series is based on real books. However,in films, TV and stage, you NEVER kill a character when they're part of the success of the series. And noe you have tripled the crime. Sorry. You have lost another of your once devoted viewers. Too bad Larry Lavin wasn't producing your series. We can always count on him for that "feel good" ending.

      Delete
    4. Arretta, Many Aurora fans are quite sad to see Martin go. It's true, his character is killed in the books, but as far as the movie goes, he has left the country. The actor who plays Martin has decided to leave the mystery series, so I don't think he will be returning in the future, even though that is a possibility, in regard to how they last left the movie story.

I believe you are also referring to Larry Levinson, who used to produce many early, wonderful Hallmark movies.

Thank you for commenting and sharing your thoughts. Blessings, Net

  20. While I have always enjoyed the series, the entrance of Martin Bartell gave it a gravitas that I don't think can be retained or increased without him. I was truly hoping the writers and producers would not follow the book series and take out Martin Bartell.

  21. I concur with everyone's disappointment here, with the loss of Martin and John. Aurora, to me, is above all else, a Mystery movie, not a Romantic Comedy. The element of who she is dating is not the focus of each story; therefore I feel it's not important that she continue to date different men, to keep it interesting.

Having one man in her life fit Aurora's lifestyle perfectly, and she and Martin seemed like an ideal match. It is disappointing now to seem him go. I secretly keep hoping they will say he's missing for awhile and later on, bring him back. Any thing's possible in a mystery movie, right? Or, maybe Aurora could travel to South America and bring him back! It could be a great mystery! I mean, Lacey Chabert's filming in Africa... why not send Candace to South America to bring Martin back! (ha! ha!) If only they would! And, in the meantime, why not stir up some kind of mystery involving Sally, John's niece, which would require him to return! :)

I loved Yannick Bisson and he and Aurora have such a good chemistry together. 1. I’m with you. Why would you get rid of such a fine actor as Yannick — and, in my opinion, one of the best, more intriguing characters, due to his past, in the series? I don’t want to see Aurora dating different guys with each being meaningless. Yannick plays the mature Martin with an interesting, adventurous past so well and he is very handsome. They will be wrong to get rid of him.

  23. If you missed this last movie in the Teagarden series, don't fret about it, worth missing...so disappointed in this last installment of the series. First off, too many changes, Aurora has sold her "dream home", now lives with her mom, Sally on assignment ??? and John now out of the picture. Very tired of the snooty Aida and all her airs, (John was too good for her) and miss all the other members that were in the Murder Club, that made the series special, because each character adds their own personality to the mix. Everything was missing in this one, it seemed like there was no real plot just a lot of running around, and the ending was really pitiful.....so if you missed this one, don't worry, you didn't miss anything. And please, do something with Aurora's hair, always looks yuck!!!

    2. I agree. He's too controlling and old for Aurora and I saw absolutely no chemistry between the two. Robin and Nick are much better choices.

      Delete
  25. I disagree, I prefer Roe to be with Martin. He is a stronger character / man compared to Robin. In the last movie I truly missed John, Sally and Martin. Martin made an appearance but not much. I think they need to bring him back. It will not be the same without his strong protective character! I hope he does make a come back as Robin was a bit too weak for Roe's character. I think it will ruin the series.

    2. As far as the movie goes, Martin has NOT been killed, yet. He left the country at the end of "Last Scene Alive" to help find his friend in South America. News regarding this may come in this next Aurora movie or later.

Unfortunately, his character is killed in the book. I'm not sure how. Excellent question. Perhaps, someone who has the read the book can answer this here for you, Henry.

Thank you for asking. Blessings, Net

  26. I just watched this movie. I was so disappointed that John is gone. I really liked this actor and his character. I liked him in the Real Murders Club, and what he brought to it. Disappointed that Sally was not there either. It made no sense that Aurora confided in Perry when she had others who would have been much better-Martin for one. And poor Martin’s character was not given much to do. I have to go home and look on my computer?Really, with technology, why did he need to be on a computer at home? Why write him out? I always liked this actor, and he was a good character. Unhappy that both John and Martin will not be back. This movie lacked warmth without John.

Larry Levinson always manages to produce and direct "feel good" episodes. I think he should do the Aurora Teagarden series from now on and change the stories back to including those wonderful characters you have axed and welcome John and Martin back. If they are gone for good, I think you're going to lose a large part of your former devoted viewers.

  29. I agree that Last Scene Alive was not like the previous movies. It lacked substance and did not hold my interest. I have watched the previous movies over and over and have no interest in seeing this one again. I am very sad that Martin is no longer on the show. He and Aurora had an excellent chemistry that kept the movies interesting. This last movie was shallow and Martins character was off from the previous movies. I missed John also. Bring them both back!

Adios to Martin and to the show for my family and me.

    1. I agree. It has ruined it for me that they are eliminating characters, an ensemble cast, that worked extremely well. As much as this is about Aurora Teagarden (Candace Bure), this last episode in the series was very dry and just not that good. Also, they made Martin really out of character for the person he showed himself to be throughout the previous episodes. They are not following the books in many ways; there is no reason to kill off Martin. He maturity was very complimentary to Aurora's personality, and his background was a great fit for Aurora's interest in solving crimes. Yannick Bisson needs to be brought back into the fold. We are not watching this series to see who Aurora will be with next. Again, breaking up a great ensemble cast is a sure thing for losing the core audience. Thankfully Sally will be back but apparently no John. I enjoyed John's character a lot; he will be missed. But Martin and Sally not returning -- I wouldn't bother watching this any longer.

  31. Just discovered this site and was really disappointed (like the majority of others) to learn that Martin will not be returning. When Martin was first introduced, it was like lightning in a bottle in the first 10 seconds. What a huge mistake to let that chemistry go. Surely, something could be offered to induce Yannick Bisson to return. This was like letting the air out of a balloon! C'mon Hallmark! You can do so much better than this!

  32. I agree with you about the character of Martin. It will not be the same without him. What is Hallmark thinking? These movies have not followed every aspect of the book so why can't Aurora be with
Martin? It will be interesting to see how the next movie is without the character of Martin.

    1. The actor who portrays the character, Martin, Yannick Bisson, has decided to leave the "Aurora" series. Unfortunately, Hallmark didn't have a choice. Either they stop making them or go on without him. Obviously, they have decided to go on and continue making more.

To be fair, it just might have been too much with Yannick's schedule, since he is still making "Murdoch Mysteries." (He's been with that series for 10 years, since 2008!)

The title of this movie is rather ironic when you think about... "Last Scene Alive." When you watch it, you think it refers to the actress who was killed on set, but it actually may be referring to Martin. This particular movie sadly "may be" or "most likely will be" the last time he is seen alive.

I agree... this next movie should be quite interesting!

  34. Count me as a disappointed fan and, perhaps, a fan no longer. I have watched all of the movies in the Aurora series, but they weren't "must sees" until Martin was introduced as a character. I couldn't wait for the next installment to see the development of the Aurora/Martin relationship. I was extremely disappointed in Last Scene Alive. And the latest,Reap What You Sew, was even less interesting. The plot was boring and I felt no connection with the characters, not even Aurora, Sally or Aida. I am truly hoping the producers find a way to bring back Martin and resuscitate the series. As it stands now, it's on life support.

Nothing says you have to follow book exactly, very few shows do and they turn out worth watching.Would hate to lose a good movie series.

  39. I was sad to see John go but even sadder to see Martin go. I haven't read the books but as an exec. of a company who works 10-14 hour days, I don't have time to read and love to relax with these series movies. I don't see why the movies must follow the books. There are many viewers who haven't read the books and who love the chemistry between Aurora and Martin. Why can't the network keep it going and give the viewers what they want. Since it was Yannick Bisson's choice to leave, why can't they find a good replacement like they did with Jason and the children in Garage Sale Mysteries instead of giving Aurora an endless stream of new boyfriends. We get used to the characters and enjoy the movies because of them. It also is annoying that the Network chose to replace the evening movies with repetitive T.V. series and took away the 9:00 m movies. While I love Monk and Psych, they should keep the mid-week movies. I stopped watching after they did that. They should find a 'new' Martin and bring back John. I will miss Yannick Bisson but if he won't stay in the series, replacing him with another Martin is better than new boyfriends. I also wish they would stick to their mystery series instead of putting love stories on the Hallmark Mysteries channel. I find it annoying. The love stories are on the regular Hallmark channel. I I don't want to, but will stop watching the station if they stay on this course and it is a shame as I enjoy it so. Too bad they are more interested in making a buck than pleasing their viewers if they are trying to get viewers to pay to see their movies on their pay channel. Capitalism strikes again. Shame on the network.

  40. If you are saying this thing is based on a book, you should at least try to stay close. Otherwise the term is "Loosely based on charcters created by." As for Hallmark, they smell money and will keep going until they turn everyone aginst the whole series of books. Nothing on Hallmakr is as good as the original because they hve to water it down so much and use equally washed up actors. Wish real network had covered these. (I am forced to wtch cos of my very very elderly mom - the books do not need this shabby treatment)

  41. Martin and John are integral men in The Aurora Teagarden mysteries. I
feel that the show has lost its appeal. Why wouldn’t Hallmark do what they can to have them rejoin the cast. Martin and Aurora had great chemistry and connection. John and Aida were so great together. Don’t think I’ll watch anymore.

  42. The entire Aurora Teagarden show has lost its momentum. I feel that both Martin and John were integral in this series. Aurora, seemed so content with Martin and it was so convincing to see her happy. They had a great connection and should have continued. John and Aida were equally connected and made the audience wonder when they would finally get it together. This made for a good storyline. But, ALL OF A SUDDEN BOTH MEN WERE GONE.. Hallmark should revive these two important roles with these two actors. My interest in watching is gone now. Perhaps, the network should offer these two actors more money to come back...Many of my friends and I miss them. Really!

  43. It was a disappointing show. I’m more frustrated finding out about all the changes when watching the show & more disappointed @ John than any of the characters. Also had to agree with the other commenter on what shows HM&M is airing as it’s not a good line up in the evenings. Wish John would come back but if Martin’s character left due to other obligations, the show could have found a replacement. I dare say the majority of watchers are following the books that close to care if Martin’s character was killed off. HMC needs to seriously rethink viewers ideas & affects before making such drastic changes. Seems as if having an audience is the main goal.

  44. I am sad Martin won't be back :( He was great in the series and I will miss him, however, since he did get killed in the books, it's not a surprise to me so I will keep watching even though it won't be the same. They didn't kill Jack off in the WCTH books so after stringing us along for 5 seasons on WCTH with, will they, won't they, then they finally get together, then he's gone a lot of episodes, then finally back, finally married, gone again then boom dead so I am not watching that show anymore! But because of how it made me feel them killing off a main character in WCTH I can certainly feel for how Martin's fans feel that won't watch anymore. I totally understand even though I will keep watching. I know they can stray from books and they usually do but when a character gets killed in the books then at least you know it can happen. Jack didn't die in the books so he should had been recast to keep the J&E story lines going since he was a main character, too. I have no desire to watch an expecting widow or a new love interest for Elizabeth so I can relate to those fans of Martin that don't want to see a new love interest for Aurora. At least she didn't get married to Martin and then he gets killed right afterwards.

and the series does not seem the same without Martin.
Aurora has been given a new potential love interest in

actor, he is no Martin. Please bring Martin back from
south america, as I do not enjoy the series without him.

  48. I understand that Yannick left on his own. I think this is reasonable since he is already working on a series. Maybe at this time in his life the schedule was too demanding. At least for the moment they have not killed him off so there is a possibility he may return.

I watched the new movie last night with Niall Mater. I have loved the other things I have seen him in but not sure the chemistry is there with his character and Aurora. He is a college professor so the character is more cerebral than Martin's character. With Aurora being more cerebral herself, I think it waters the movie down too much.

Of course the character, Jake, was able to show his "muscles" more which helped a little bit with Martin gone. As far as John being gone as well, I didn't miss him as much since my expectations of Aurora's mom is flighty and noncommittal.

But at least Sally is back!!!

  49. Please bring back Yannick Bisson as Martin Bartell!
Cameron is a gem but neither Nick (Disappearing Game episode) nor Robin are a good match. I was so hoping Martin would return in Disappearing Game. Hallmark is losing my interest; in spite of the great characters of Roe & Sally they need a strong male character to round out the show. Yannick Blisson is perfect for that role - reminds me of his William Murdoch character but even better!

  50. I agree, Martin does need to come back. The movies just aren't as good without him. Such good chemistry. Not sure I will be watching anymore as well. Oh well.....

  51. I don't think people understand what has happened with some of the characters. They had to "write Martin out" of the series because the actor playing him, Yannick Bisson, CHOSE to leave the series. As I understand it, he is starring in another show, and is focusing his time on that. As for Sally, one of the comments above said that the actress who plays her, Lexa Doig, left the show temporarily to appear in another show. But it sounded like she might be returning. I didn't see any information on why John (actor Bruce Dawson) "moved away" or if there is the possibility he will come back. Realistically, if they haven't killed off a character, then there is always the possibility that they may return at some point. I don't think we can blame the show itself for some of these characters not being in the series at this time.

  52. That is Fair enough Yannick has other commitments not a problem for me .

  53. I really enjoyed the character Martin and the chemistry between him and Aurora. It is a shame that he has other commitments that he had to drop out of the show. Maybe he will come back after seeing all the responses about his leaving the show. It was definitely better with him playing opposite of Candice. Not as interesting now. So sad too it was one of my favorites to watch.

  54. I miss the Martin character as well and it just didn’t make sense that he decided to leave her when he fell head over heels for her from the get-go even near the end of the first episode he was in when he picked her up off the floor and carried her, he commented “ This is good practice.” She responded “Practice for what?” That was cute. And episodes that followed, left both of them hinting at marriage and even Martin being the Father of her children and then the writers send Martin away. I really do like the actor, Niall Natter, but the chemistry was not the same as w/Martin, and they wrote his character like a puppy dog immediately being over and above in awe of Roe. It just didn’t seem believable. Martin was a more mature man who was probably thinking about settling down and as enthralled he was with Roe, he had a strength, maturity, confidence about himself that surpassed these other guys they’re putting w/ Roe. In the Dead Over Heels episode, they made a point of revealing that Roe and Martin had been together for over a year & then created a situation where Aida did not want Roe to be alone because of strange goings. It just seemed silly that Aida, John & Arthur seemed appalled or stunned when Martin said he’ll stay wRoe and had to qualify that with saying — “On the couch!” This man, Martin, who is supposed to be at least in his late 30s - 40 and Roe character in her mid 30s and “dating” over a year and people would be stunned he’d spend the night?? That was silly. In any case, Yannick was the best ying to Roe’s yang & they ruined that very major thread that runs thru this series. I like Aida’s character more now & like how Marilu has developed her and made her more interesting. Sally, Martin and John are my favorite characters and now 2 of them are gone. I have to say I like the whole ensemble cast but not finding a way to at least keep Yannick on board was a huge mistake.

  55. One of my favorite characters is John Queensland (actor Bruce Dawson). He was a support for Roe and for the Murderers Club and was very good in this show. I miss him. Having Roe jump from romance to romance is not good. Also, her relationship with a college professor is not good, he is not supportive of her mystery solving main character - he just doesn't blend in well. Bring John Queensland back!

  57. I just found this as I was watching an old episode of Aurora, and was wondering whose idea it was to get rid of Martin. I have to admit I was very disappointed in the show where Martin leaves. It was like they had different writers who didn't even know the characters before writing that episode. I do however like the new guy, although Martin was the best for Aurora.

  58. Wish Yannick Bisson would reconsider & that he could could be written back in as Martin in a different story line than the book?!

  59. I also love the HM channel & have my favs & this show was at the top of the list until the last few episodes. Roe's love interests have never been developed & even the Martin/Roe duo seemed awkward. Martin leaving isn't a stresser but it would be nice for Roe to be in a romance where she isn't in charge. Where HM made the biggest mistake is letting John leave. He wasn't just a love interest for Aida but was truly an established character of the show & part of the murder mystery club. If he were to return this would help the show & Sally coming back is good.
