With Love, Christmas - a Hallmark Channel Original "Countdown to Christmas" Movie starring Emilie Ullerup and Aaron O'Connell

MOVIE REVIEW

Movie: With Love, Christmas

Network: Hallmark Channel

Original Air Date: November 22, 2017

CAST:

Emilie Ullerup ... Melanie Welsh
Aaron O'Connell ... Donovan Goodwin

PLOT:

Storyline via Hallmark: Advertising execs Melanie Welsh and Donovan Goodwin disagree on a cellphone Christmas commercial they’re pitching. He says his sleek design will win over the client but she knows it lacks holiday spirit. Christmas is definitely in Melanie’s wheelhouse, but when she draws Donovan’s name for Secret Santa, she’s at a loss. He’s even more minimalist than his advertising style. Determined to give Donovan and their commercial holiday joy, Melanie tries to get to know him via a Secret Santa email. She also takes him to a Christmas tree farm for a crash course in holiday cheer. As they work together, Donovan slowly opens up to Melanie, and she begins to fall for him. What she doesn’t know is he’s her Secret Santa too! As they create the perfect commercial, they also realize they might be perfect partners as well.

  1. I absolutely love Emilie Ullerup. She is beautiful and love Bree on CS. I found out recently her real life boyfriend played Martin on CS. I have to admit, there are so many movies this year, it may be hard to watch all of them, but I will watch anything with her in it.

    1. Oh, I agree - I, too, love Emilie Ullerup's movies! She's so fun to watch, expressive! I would love to see her do a Hallmark movie, beyond Christmas, too! I know she's been in (non-Christmas) Signed, Sealed, Delivered movies, which I love...but, that is a co-starring role and not the lead.

And...Yes, "Martin Demming" in Chesapeake Shores is Emilie Ullerup's real life husband, Kyle Cassie. When I found that out, I was kind of surprised, because Kyle plays such a creep, as Martin, on CS. I keep wondering, if they might bring him back, eventually, if there is any redemption for his character, and that's IF there are further Chesapeake Shores seasons!?!?! Guess we will have to wait and see!

Glad you are looking forward to this one, too, Sabrina!!!
      Thanks so much for sharing!!!

  5. I noticed while watching HMM movie preview that it seems like 'A Gift to Remember' and 'When God Winks At You' are no longer on the schedule. Does anyone know if they've been cut completely, renamed, or just rescheduled? I've tried looking it up online but I haven't been able to figure it out.

    1. Yes, things have changed around quite a bit since the first release of Christmas movies. Several movies have moved from one network to another, such as "A Gift to Remember" moving to the Hallmark Channel. As for "When God Winks at You," which was lately retitled, "When God Winks" has been removed from the schedule. Further details are to come on this one- so stay tuned!

Thank you for commenting, Pamela. You may want to keep an eye on my Christmas TV Movie list or schedule for all the latest updates and changes.

      Blessings on your day! Net

  6. Why did they change the title from Secret Santa to Secretly Santa, & then With Love, Christmas,

    1. Excellent question. Unfortunately, it happens quite often... sometimes for the worse... and sometimes for the better! It just depends.

For this one, either title would work, I suppose... and thankfully it was changed now as the press images are released so we can get used to the new title- going along with this movie.

    2. Secret Santa as referred as anonymous for exchange gifts with their names in the box or Santa hat!?? When they pick the name in the box & get someone's gift from Secret Santa?

I hope Hallmark will make the movie like this ones

    1. Yes, it sure does look like the final paint job of the sleigh in "Sleigh Bells Ring"!

You can see the pictures- here!

Guess it must be Hallmark's official prop department Santa sleigh! How fun! :)

    2. I hope Hallmark will gonna use that Sleigh for Sleigh Bell Sweethearts for Christmas Keepsake or Countdown to Christmas

  9. This was a decent movie, but I felt like more focus was given to the Christmas commercial pitch story than the Secret Santa concept. When the concept of the Secret Santa gift giving was focused on, it felt like a drawn-out after-thought. Also, in a scene where Melanie and her sister were talking, there was so much snow falling, I could barely see their faces. However, the movie does have a good cast and a great poster as well!

  10. I would like to know, in the movie With Love, Christmas ... the song Melanie and Donovan first dance to, what is it? Does anybody know?
