It has become an annual July tradition for the HALLMARK CHANNEL and HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES to bring us a little Christmas in July! In just a couple weeks (17 days, actually... July 7-23...but whose counting, right? *wink*) Hallmark jam-packs many of our Christmas movie favorites from the past year and previous seasons... festive, delightful, family-friendly holiday movies that are always welcome in our homes!
Plus, Hallmark gifts us typically with one, and now TWO this year - New Christmas Movie Premieres in July! Wow, you never cease to amaze me! I am continuously surprised by your ability to outdo yourself! Thank You, truly, for these wonderful weeks of *Christmas in July* Movies!
It's clear, Hallmark executives and leadership know what the viewers like and most assuredly they know how to help us all "beat the heat" during these hot summer days! Simply turning up the AC, watching scenes and scenes of snowball fights and sleigh rides effortlessly drifts ones mind to white Christmases and chilly winter nights!
In fact, one of my followers here- Travis, emailed to let me know - his family cranked up the AC enough to turn on the fireplace, then, they played Christmas board games (including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Operation!), and sipped hot chocolate (with marshmallows, no less) while watching Hallmark Christmas movies! I LOVE it!
By the way, I found the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Operation game and more Christmas board games - at Amazon, including a Christmas Monopoly Limited Edition board game and Christmas Charades - the "Perfect Party" Game!

Also, dear movie friends, Linda and Jim, who are faithful visitors here - shared that they both decorated their homes, just a little, to get into the spirit! Linda put up a wreath (which sounds lovely!) and Jim turned on Christmas lights (nothing compares to that warm glow!)! If you decorated, too, during Christmas in July, please share in comments below!

I just love how everyone got into the spirit this year during Christmas in July! I always have a small Countdown to Christmas clock on my desk, which is a constant reminder that Christmas is one day closer than it was yesterday! Plus, this year - I got out some of my favorite decorative Christmas pillows - which were comfy on the couch while watching Hallmark Christmas movies!!! (these pillows below are very similar!)
Kneeling Santa Pillow / Set of 4 Decorative Christmas Pillowcase Covers
By my count, there were 59 Hallmark Christmas Movies that aired in July during Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Gold Crown Christmas and the Hallmark Channel's Christmas Keepsake Week event! In turn, reverse that number around... and there were approximately 95 Hallmark Christmas movies that didn't air during Hallmark's Christmas in July celebration at all! And, I know many of you, like myself, certainly missed them! (More Below...)
For all of you who are familiar with the animated cartoon - "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer..." if you recall there were many sweet toys that were left behind on the island of misfit toys and Santa found them and delivered them all - just in time for Christmas! These movies, just like those toys, weren't at all misfits - they were all quite fit and just needed to be loved & enjoyed! Be sure to take a look at the listings below of the movies that played during Christmas in July and the movies that didn't and please share in comments (remind Santa!) which movies you missed during July, but hope to see in October, November, or December!!! Hopefully, Santa will turn that sleigh around, pick these movies up again, and play them at Christmastime!!! (Ha! Ha! or rather, Ho! Ho! Ho!)

Movies I personally loved & Movies I missed during Christmas in July:
I'll start in by saying again how much I thoroughly enjoyed Christmas in July on the both Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and the Hallmark Channel! Thank you, Hallmark! I am truly so grateful you continue to air in July these sweet Christmas movies and fill our homes with the Christmassy spirit in the midst of summer!

I MISSED...
With so many movies in the Hallmark Christmas library, unfortunately not all of the movies we love could be played.
The ones I missed the most were... (I picked a baker's dozen!)
"Signed, Sealed, Delivered: For Christmas" - Such a beautiful, amazing story of the true meaning of Christmas - wrapped in a non-delivered letter mystery! One of Hallmark's overall best Christmas movies ever, in my opinion!
"The Nine Lives of Christmas" - Originally this fan-favorite feline movie was scheduled to play during Christmas in July, but was replaced by an airing of "When Calls the Heart Christmas." I love WCTH, but I also very much missed seeing this adorable movie, which has two very sweet cats and the most precious love story!
"Broadcasting Christmas" - Surprisingly, this is the ONLY New Christmas Movie from 2016 that was NOT played during Christmas in July! Starring Dean Cain (Mr. Christmas, himself!) and Melissa Joan Hart, this movie, all about reporters vying for the same position in a Christmas contest, is cleverly unique and always entertaining!
"A Boyfriend for Christmas" - One of Hallmark's first - best Christmas Movie romantic comedies (from 2004)! Even all the guys in my family still like this one! When Holly brings Douglass Firwood home to meet her parents for Christmas - that's when the real fun begins! After all these years, I still love it!
"A Season for Miracles" - This Hallmark Hall of Fame movie from 1999 will always be a sentimental favorite! I love everything about it... the dear aunt, who wants so much to care for her precious, yet scared, niece and nephew, the sweet sisters who conveniently live next door and are always trying be supportive and neighborly, the helpful handsome police officer who serendipitously is always there when he's needed the most, and of course, the Angel, portrayed by the wonderful actress Patty Duke!
"The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" - Yes, the one with The Fonz, Henry Winkler! This is such an amusing, charming movie - the very moment Morgan shows up with Uncle Ralph unexpectedly for Christmas!
"Moonlight and Mistletoe" - Candace Cameron Bure's first Hallmark Christmas movie! It's so sweet when Holly comes home to take care of her father after his sleigh ride injury, then finds herself helping to save Santaville from financial ruin, and all the while, discovering love - with some mishaps along the way! Also stars Barbara Niven of "Chesapeake Shores!"
"Battle of the Bulbs" - This is not your typical romantic Hallmark movie, but it is still a lot of fun! There's a fierce competition between neighbors for the best Christmas light display and it's a blast to see them do their best to out do one another! The movie stars one of Christmas Movie's biggest stars, Daniel Stern - Marv, one of the infamous robbers from Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York!
"Holiday Engagement" - If you want to watch a Christmas movie that will make you literally laugh out loud... then, this is it! When Hillary brings home David, an actor, to pretend to be Jason, her ex-boyfriend, the real fun begins! Just thinking about various scenes makes me giggle... plus, there is a beautiful scene where Hillary and David sing "Angels We Have Heard on High" together at the piano - just before the real Jason unexpectedly arrives!
"A Princess for Christmas" - Absolutely enchanting! I am always swept away by this beautiful royal story... it's like a fairytale dream come true with the castle, prince, and a happily ever after!
"Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade" - I just fell in love with this movie! From the quirky, perky background music to the vintage wearing Emily and all her woes - including a marine biologist boyfriend who is completely clueless, and Henry, the new guy at work - who she fears may ruin the parade and everything she plans tediously each year! This is truly a delightfully witty and remarkably romantic - Hallmark treasure!
"Snow Bride" - One misconception snowballs into another... as an old flame resurfaces, sibling rivalry rises, and love that is at first fake becomes reality! And, it's all such fun to watch unravel and resolve itself in the end!
"Window Wonderland" - This is a fascinating, engrossing look into the lives of two very different people, so it seems, who create window displays and are competing for the same position at work. Looks may be deceiving and not quite exactly what anyone initially perceives. Filled with challenges, misconceptions, and quick witted banter - it's a beautiful window into their world where true love is, at last, discovered! Even stars two of Hallmark's most popular leading men - Paul Campbell and Cameron Mathison!
Please take a look at the list of movies below NOT played during Hallmark's Christmas in July, and share in comments (further below!) which movies you missed!

Please share which movies you loved and which movies you missed during Christmas in July and we'll hope together to see them all this upcoming Christmas season - on either the Hallmark Channel or Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!!!
The memories made with my family while watching your Christmas movies these last few weeks, like your ornaments, are a treasured keepsake!
THANK YOU, again, Hallmark... for a Wonderful Christmas in July! I know myself and many viewers can't wait 'til the heat of summer subsides, and we all say Brrrrr as the chill of fall returns, and retreat inside as Christmas Movies return in OCTOBER!
Blessings everyone, Net
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year and Window Wonderland were the two on your list that I missed the most. Luckily I still have those on my DVR from last year--watched Window Wonderland yesterday, in fact! Another one I really like is Naughty or Nice. Only 95 days until 10/27, right?
ReplyDeleteSteve - You have excellent Christmas movie taste! Those are all great picks!
DeleteCan't believe I left "Naughty or Nice" off my list of "missed movies" above! Hilarie Burton was so wonderful in that movie... I truly love that one, as well!!! After seeing Hilarie in ""Naughty or Nice" and Paul Campbell in "Window Wonderland," I just had a feeling they would be great together in "Surprised by Love." And, they absolutely were!!!
As for counting the days, if you are viewing this through the web version (not mobile) then you see my new HUGE countdown to Hallmark Christmas movies at the bottom of the page! It actually counts down to the second, but whose counting, right???
That is awesome that you watched "Window Wonderland" yesterday! I have it on my recorder still, too!!! I must re-watch it again - very soon! :)
Thank you for sharing today- Blessings to You!!! Net
I love your list Net, as we love many of the same movies. I bet you were happy to see the preview for Paul Campbell's Sun Sand and Romance yesterday.
ReplyDeleteEvery year I always find one or two old movie that I previously didn't care for that becomes my new fave. I had a few this year, The Secret, The Note, Sleigh Bells Ring and....... Love You Like Christmas. Last year it was A Very Merry Mixup and Trading Christmas (both of which they played and both of which I have on DVD). Yesterday was a rainy day in FL, so I was able to curl up and watch movies all day, I love the Christmas movies and am really looking forward to Oct 27th.
Movies they didn't play that I missed:
Snow Bride (I have this on dvd, but I wanted them to play it for someone who has never saw it, as it was one of the first movies I watched on Hallmark and which led to me falling in love with this channel)
One Starry Christmas (I have on my DVR, but wanted to see it played and I wish they played more of the older movies)
Matchmaker Santa
Christmas Sheppard--such a wonderful movie
I do thank you Net, for all the updates and the reminders of what Christmas really is about. Your tireless efforts make this so much fun and you are the first one I think of when I see a new preview, or find out Hallmark news.
Thank you Hallmark for the wonderful movies and we so look forward to more. I know we have Summer Nights, but I am already wishing for Fall Harvest, mainly cause it will be Christmas all day very soon after and the cooler weather cause it is HOTTTTTTT in FL.
Awww, thank you, Sabrina... for all the very sweet thoughtfully kind words on my site!!!
DeleteI sincerely wanted Hallmark to know how much we all thoroughly loved and enjoyed Christmas in July, and having movies we missed - goes to show how much their movies mean to all of us! And, I'm certainly glad to hear how well their ratings were, which proves how much we all love them!!!
"Matchmaker Santa" with Lacey Chabert is such a super cute one, too! My "missed movies" keeps getting longer! Her co-stars are all so wonderful in it... the lovely late, Florence Henderson (forever Carol Brady!), John Ratzenberger (all around great comedy actor - Cheers, Toy Story, etc...), and Donovan Scott (one of Hallmark's best ever Santa's!)!
So glad to hear the Christmas Movies have been a great distraction for you during the intense heat! Cool thoughts always help, a little!
Thank you, again, for your sweet comment - it absolutely brightened my day!!! :)
Blessings! "Summer Nights" is on the way... Net :)
Are the results for the “It’s a Wonderful Movie” awards going to be posted soon? I’m just wondering because it’s been two weeks since the last poll ended.
ReplyDeleteYes, I hope to have all the results posted soon! Thank you for your patience. I've been extra busy with all the Christmas movies in July!
DeleteThank you so much for your interest! Blessings, Net
Johnny Blake's (Trevor Donovan) little Sister named Ginger Blake in Married Me at Christmas
ReplyDeleteThe Wedding Planner named Maddie Crew
"Christmas in July" was so wonderful. There is always that touch of sadness when it's over even when it's in July. The great part of "Christmas in July" though is when it's over there isn't that dark depressing gloom of January being on our doorstep like in the real Christmas. Although you just can't match the Christmas magic that we get in the 'real' Christmas in December, "Christmas in July" provides a wonderful splash (pun intended) of the addicting buzz of Christmas wonderment.
ReplyDeleteWhen that last moment of Hallmark Christmas movies in July ended last night at 11PM, I felt that hated twinge of emptiness. However, in less than two months from now my first marker for Christmas shows up as one of my local retailer's decorates and sets up their Christmas Tree Lane so just a very temporary emptiness and then quickly the magic begins to return one snowflake at a time and of course Net always keeps feeding us little snowflakes of Christmas all along the way.
As you know me by now Net, the movie I missed most during "Christmas in July" on Hallmark was "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year". I have a very sentimental feeling towards that movie.
With every kind of channel out there, I am surprised nobody has started an all year round Christmas channel yet. A channel dedicated to nothing but everything Christmas all year long. There are tons of movies, shows, cartoons, etc. over many many years. I suppose maybe we would lose the real magic of Christmas though if we watched too often, and I am sure I would watch too often...haha.
Wonderful to hear from you, Jim! Thank you for holding the *JOY* of *CHRISTMAS* in your heart all throughout the year - with all of us!!!
Delete"My Christmas Love" was a sweet way to end the Christmas in July movies on the Hallmark Channel Sunday night, I felt - since it's such a delightful movie that counts the days until Christmas - like we are doing now!
I definitely missed "The Most Wonderful Time of Year," too! It's such a good one... I simply love everything about it!
This is truly one of the best times - when we are counting down the days together and learning about all the new Christmas movies coming this year!!!
Even though the Christmas movies have ended on Hallmark for July, I plan to watch one of the movies I missed tonight! Probably "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" or "Nine Lives!!!"
Blessings to you & keep those Christmas lights shining as Christmas in July continues on a few other channels! See schedule:

Since you shared you enjoyed the movie "Christmas Oranges," I think you might also like, and maybe you've already seen it...

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945) ... TCM ... 12 PM
Blessings & Happy Christmas in July!!! Net :)
Jim, I loved that!! "Net always keeps finding us little snowflakes of Christmas all along the way"!! Yes, yes she does and does it so lovingly!! Keep those lights on. LOL!!
DeleteThank you so much, Linda!!! Your sweet, uplifting comments always brighten my day!!! :)
DeleteGreat post, Net, and YES!! Thank you, Hallmark, for a full two weeks of Christmas in July at probably the "hottest" time of the year. I loved every minute of it and especially the (2) new wonderful movies that I also enjoyed. Awwwwww....Net, I'm going to miss it so!! P.S. I'm leaving the wreath up; helps beat the heat. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteSome of my favs were, Journey Back to Christmas, Finding Father Christmas, Hearts of Christmas, The Christmas Note, Operation Christmas, A Heavenly Christmas, A Nutcracker Christmas, and many more. The ones I missed were, SSD For Christmas, Snow Bride, Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Christmas Shepherd, The Nine Lives of Christmas, One Christmas Eve and again, many more.
Oh, thank you so much, Linda! It's a long post today, but I'm so glad you like it!
DeleteI personally love that you are keeping up your wreath and starting a new tradition! It sounds so pretty and makes you happy! Anyone who doesn't like it must be a Scrooge... Bah-Humbug!
In today's post - I absolutely wanted to give Hallmark my gratitude for these 17 magical days of wonderful Christmas movies (I'm certainly going to miss them, too!) and give acknowledgment to the movies we love most! I'm so glad to hear all of your favorites, as well!!!
I also LOVE the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie "One Christmas Eve." It a refreshing comedic take on Christmas, and definitely a more upbeat feel, than most HHOF movies!
Thank you so much, Linda, for sharing in all the fun!!!
Blessings... Have a Beautiful Day, Net :)
Thanks Net. I'll have to check out that movie on TCM, if not this Sunday than sometime soon.
ReplyDelete"Christmas Oranges" turned out to be my favorite movie during "Christmas in July". Sure the Hallmark Christmas movies get all the hype and we all love them so much but "Christmas Oranges" was such a great surprise to me. A surprise that I never would have gotten if you hadn't pointed out it's showing on TCT. It effected me more emotionally than any other movie this July, by far. I love when God gives us those little graces that we never see coming.
Awww, Jim... I'm so glad you enjoyed it as much as you did! Perhaps, "Christmas Oranges" would also be a good movie for my new post today - Christmas Movie Treasures! Especially since it's not one many know, and it is exceptionally good! I'm so happy to know how much joy it brought to you! God is good!!! :)
DeleteMy daughter LOVES A Grandpa for Christmas and missed seeing that this time.
ReplyDeleteMeredyth - Oh my goodness, tell your daughter I LOVE that one, too! It's definitely one we don't see enough of!
DeleteAnd, "A Grandpa for Christmas" is such a rare Hallmark movie, too, because there is no romance or mystery... just a sweet little story that takes place at Christmastime and the singing is outstanding!!!
Thank you for sharing!!! :)
I loved Christmas in July, but I really wish they wouldn't repeat movies. There's so many they could've put in the place of some of the rerun ones. (Especially the ones you listed.)
ReplyDeleteI will need to DVR Window Wonderland this season and sit on it forever. Never should've deleted it!
Thanks for updating so often during this event!
Oh yes, I wish they could've played more, too, instead of repeating some of them. It may have been cheaper to do it that way... I don't know?
DeleteAs for "Window Wonderland," -- yeah, you must record it this Christmas! It's one of the best, in my opinion... such a good one to re-watch over and over again!!! Glad you love it, too! It's definitely a keeper!!!
And, you're welcome for all the updates... I love sharing all this news with all of you! Thanks so much!!! :)
Great post Net! I too am sad to see Christmas in July come to an end. As always, a big thank you to Hallmark for the "Christmas In July" event!! Always great and I look forward to it every year!
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas movie I missed seeing the most was "The Most Wonderful Time of The Year"! It's right up there with the The Christmas Card which in my opinion is the best Christmas movie ever! I listed some others I missed seeing too.
From Hallmark Channel:
The Nine Lives Of Christmas
One Starry Christmas
Matchmaker Santa (with the best Santa ever)
A Princess For Christmas(Best royal movie I think)
Call Me Mrs. Miracle
From Hallmark Movies & Mysteries:
Christmas in Conway
November Christmas(Love Sam Elliott)
A Dog Named Christmas
Christmas With Tucker
The Christmas Heart
There were others but these were missed the most. Thanks again for you do for us Net! You keep Christmas alive all year long. Blessings to you!
Joyce, Thank you so much for your thoughtful words - glad you enjoyed this post and I love so many of your favorite missed movies, as well! We needed a whole other week, or while we're at it - how bout the whole month?
DeleteWith over 30 new Christmas movies this year - I sure hope we'll still see many of our cherished past favorites!!!
Many blessing back to you, as well!
Thank you bunches for sharing!!! Net
130 days!!! Freeform 25 days of Christmas!!! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Christmas is coming!!! Thanks for sharing this countdown to the 25 days of Christmas!!! :)
DeleteI missed all the ones you did Net. If only Santa will pick them up for Christmas then will be okay.
ReplyDeleteBy now you probably know the one I missed the most, it was Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas! When Oliver, Shane, Rita and Norman deliver that letter to the little girl in the hospital that is the most sweetest thing, a miracle from God! That's our family favorite! We looked for it last year at Christmas and as I recall it wasn't on the schedule much, barely at all. Thought maybe if I mentioned it, in addition to you, it might help it's reairing chances.
ReplyDeleteWe also missed Nine Lives, Matchmaker Santa, A Princess for Christmas, and lots more! Great post! I sure hope Rudolph guides Santa's sleigh around. By the way, my kids loved that and the cute ornaments!
