Day 5: Can you keep a Secret during Christmas in July?

Well, here at "It's a Wonderful Movie"... I'm sharing all the Christmas Movie secrets I can find! And, tonight's not-so secret movie is... Hallmark's "The Christmas Secret," which airs tonight on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries (HMM)!

Start your Christmas movie viewing early this morning with Jimmy Durante in "The Great Rupert"... then, Doris Day... acting and singing in the two part movie/sequel - "On Moonlight Bay" (from 1951) and "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" (from 1953)! If you haven't seen them, be sure to tune in... there's one particular scene, especially in "On Moonlight Bay" - that will surely touch all Christmas movie fans hearts deeply! You'll know it when you see it!

July 11, 2017 - Tuesday

The Great Rupert ... TCT ... 1:30 AM
By the Light of the Silvery Moon (1953) ... TCM ... 6 AM
Home & Family Christmas in July ... Hallmark Channel ... 10 AM
On Moonlight Bay (1951) ... TCM ... 10 AM
Christmas Oranges ... TCT ... 5:30 PM
The Christmas Secret ... HMM ... 7 PM
Operation Christmas ... HMM ... 9 PM
Miracle on 34th Street (1973) ... TCT ... 1:30 AM
The Ride: A Christmas Eve Parable (35 min) ... TCT ... 2:17 AM

It's Christmas in July once again on Hallmark Channel's Home & Family with actress Danica McKellar from the Hallmark Channel original movie "Coming Home for Christmas", who will cook with her mother a Christmas ham! Plus, there are lots of Christmas crafts on Home & Family, too. See this show July 11, 2017 - Tuesday at 10 AM! (repeats Wednesday at 12 PM noon)

Have you seen the movie "Christmas Oranges?" During this Christmas in July, it already aired on Saturday, but if you missed it then, you'll want to watch or record it today at 5:30 PM (EST)! Due to some tough issues with orphan children, it may not be suitable for younger viewers, but it truly is a heartwarming movie! (Thank you, Jim, for letting me know how much you enjoyed it!) The film stars Edward Herrmann (Hallmark's "The Christmas Pageant," "Gilmore Girls") as a horrible Scrooge-like character, but you'll have to watch and see if this Scrooge's heart ever softens!

You can also watch TCT streaming live on-line, but please note the video is in Central Time - so please keep that in mind when viewing! (It's an hour behind Eastern Standard Time!)

Tonight's Christmas movies on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries are also both ones that have previously aired during this Christmas in July, but they're both so good - they are worth a re-watch! Or, if you haven't caught them, yet... you'll definitely want to settle in and make it your mission to watch "The Christmas Secret" and "Operation Christmas" tonight! I highly recommend both of them!

A Merry Christmas in July to You All

and to You All a Good Day

and a Good-Night!!!

Be blessed, Net

  1. I am happy it is Christmas week and all, so happy to watch movies, but.......The Christmas Secret was on Sunday. I would rather they play The Christmas Shepherd, Mrs. Miracle, Christmas in Canaan, The Three Gifts, or Christmas with Holly. And I see they moved Northpole 2 to the HMM channel, can they play Northpole 1? I am over the fact that they aren't playing them all day long, I kind of think it makes the times the movies are on more special, but I just wish we didn't have to watch a movie we already saw 2 days ago when there are so many other good movies out there. If they don't have enough, move a few more from Hallmark Channel. I think A Heavenly Christmas fits better on HMM anyway. Christmas List does as well. They could play Finding Christmas too since they have Trading Christmas. Just some ideas. Ok Happy Christmas in July.
    everyone.
This week on Home & Family, they have a lot of Hallmark stars, today is Danica Mckellar and I think they are talking about future Christmas movies. Yesterday was Erin Krakow. Catherine Bell is on Thursday. I really do not like Debbie so I have to stomach the show at least thru the Hallmark stars part. Erin is so cute and I can't wait to see Danica when I get home.

    1. Yes, it's fun to have *Christmas in July* spill over to Hallmark Channel's morning show Home & Family, too! They have done this before - so I'm happy to see it return again this year!

Each day this week on Home & Family there is a special guest from the Hallmark movie family! I had a post yesterday about Erin Krakow's appearance and of course, Danica McKellar, today! Cameron Mathison is tomorrow, Wednesday!!! I'll be listing them daily! Plus, I've heard Candace Cameron Bure will be visiting next week - so... Christmas in July on Home & Family continues on!!!

The feel-good dramatic stories in the HMM Christmas movies are absolutely wonderful - they always touch our hearts, don't they?

    1. That's great - so glad I could help! Danica McKellar is such a sweet person, one can tell by the way she is in interviews and with her fans on social media! Danica's new Christmas movie "Coming Home for Christmas" has a love triangle... sounds rather interesting!!! :)

  4. I'm somewhat new to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and I just happened to see some of The Christmas Secret on Sunday. My mom even called to ask if I saw this one. I thought I would have to wait until Christmas to see it again but was glad to see you had it listed again for today. I'm going to call my mom later and tell her it's on again. She watches all the Hallmark movies.

    1. Abby - Yes, I so agree! Doris Day & Christmas is a very sweet combination - I only wish she had done more Christmas movies!

And, Yes... Both "On Moonlight Bay" and "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" are available on DVD! In fact, Amazon has a DVD that has both movies together! See here: http://amzn.to/2uNeMPg

Doris Day and Gordon MacRae were a perfect pairing, weren't they? Their pictures together on the DVD cover are just so sweet... down home, wholesome, country, Americana, and apple pie - all come to mind! And, my... could they both sing! Such a beautiful on-screen couple - they were perfect together!!!

  7. Net -

This isn't Christmas related, but I have Directv and all of the season 1 episodes of "Chesapeake Shores" recently showed up free and available to watch with their "on demand" feature. I am just thrilled as I lost several episodes when my hard drive crashed and it had to be replaced.

Hope someone else can catch up on season 1 with Directv.

    Thanks!

    Amy

  11. Net, I just watched "The Christmas Secret" last night. I really liked most of the actors, and Betty was my favorite. Great show, in my opinion. : ) Wasn't that locket unusual looking?
