OF HOLIDAY CLASSIC
'HOW THE GRINCH
STOLE CHRISTMAS'

ON FRIDAY, NOV. 25

Original-Length "Grinch" to Delight Family Audiences for the First Time in Over a Decade

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Nov. 17, 2016 - The full version of the classic holiday musical special "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" will air Friday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. on NBC.

"Grinch," which is celebrating its 50th year on television, has often been trimmed from its original 26-minute running time, but this year NBC will present the first full telecast of the complete original version in more than a decade.

The beloved Christmas special combines the genius of Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel) and animator Chuck Jones to bring the timeless book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" to television. The special features the voices of Boris Karloff as the Grinch and the narrator, and June Foray as Cindy Lou Who.

Chuck Jones, who directed many of the most acclaimed Warner Bros. animated shorts, produced and directed "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," which was written by Geisel based on his book.

The classic tale involves the schemes of the green and small-hearted Grinch to steal every material vestige of Christmas from the Whos living in the town of Whoville, but the Grinch ultimately discovers he can't remove the spirit of Christmas from the hearts of the Whos.

  1. Oh Net, this is Nel's favorite movie! That old Grinch is not much of a Grinch in the end, and Cindy Lu reminds us what Christmas is REALLY all about. What a great movie. Enjoy watching your Christmas movies this season, Net. I'm enjoying them so much. I haven't seen any of the classics yet, like White Christmas. I'm wondering if I'm just not getting those channels? Any thoughts about that?

    1. Yes, 'The Grinch' is really deep down a beautiful story, underneath all the animation and fun, it's a delightful tale of redemption. Someone who is sad and alone, finds hope and friendship. I am so glad you and Nel enjoy it so much, Sheri.

As for 'White Christmas', it will air on AMC on December 17th! Unfortunately, it doesn't have as many airings scheduled this year, as usual.

I'm still searching for some other classics, too!!!

Blessings & Happy Thanksgiving to you, Sheri!!! Net :)
