My feeling about it is that they will do what they did last year -- they will just talk about a few of the titles. And those will be titles that are already known about (by us).

Right now, all 19 titles in the Countdown to Christmas are up on the Hallmark Channel site, in the Sneak Preview section. So anyone who actually goes to the site right now could see all of the titles if they were looking for them, and they could see many of the casts as well.

I suspect that Paul and Danica will only tell us about some of the ones with casts we know -- such as Danica's movie, of course, and Paul's movie, and "Christmas Cookies," "Mistletoe Promise, etc." ...The ones that have been filmed, and for which the casts are not a secret.

Then, if it goes how it went last year, Mark Steines might tell us that we can find the rest of the titles and info on the Hallmark site... which will be the same Sneak Preview section that is there right now.

IF we are lucky they might tell us who is in the Hall of Fame movie (because that should have a couple of noteworthy names) and confirm that it is set to air on Sunday, 11/27 (as previously mentioned in a press release), AND they might tell us which movie Candace Cameron Bure is doing.

I don't get the sense that they will give us the names of ALL of the stars and co-stars in the movies that are currently missing those details. Maybe some, but not all.

I really think they should just announce the HMM line-up on the same show. There is no sense in splitting up the 2 announcements and doing them on different shows.

Since there are only 7 new movies coming to HMM, it shouldn't take as much time to list off the titles of those. But I still get the feeling they will just tell us about a few titles that we already know, and not about the 2 movies we don't know!

    1. Yeah, last year they didn't reveal all, but they did give us a delicious taste, and they revealed cast news, too, for a few of the movies. I'm sure there will still be some mysteries left, even after the announcement, but it will be fun to see the Big Reveal!!!

I think it's easy to forget, though, that we know more than the average viewers know. We know a LOT more about what's filmed and what's coming up -- even before Hallmark announces it.

So, when they do a show like the H&F announcement show, they are assuming that we all don't know anything. That's why I think that most of the info will not be all that surprising to US, but it will be to other people.

The average viewer -- who does not sleuth and track all of the movies that are filmed during the year -- will be surprised by all of it. Most people probably haven't even looked at the Sneak Preview page on the Hallmark website. We may end up being surprised by very little of what they tell us.

... Which is fine with me! I'd rather sleuth throughout the year and get the scoop in advance, than wait until September for an announcement!

  2. Pretty excited to hear this news! Does this mean Paul Greene and Danica McKellar are doing another movie together? Could there be a Perfect Match sequel in the works?

    1. I wouldn't be surprised to see these two work together again on another Hallmark movie, whether it is a sequel or something completely new! Fans loved them together and I do think 'Perfect Match' has sequel possibilities, but no word on that happening, yet!

    2. I wish they would do a sequel!

    1. Yes, Paul Greene will co-star with Lacey Chabert in Hallmark's "A Wish for Christmas" and Danica McKellar will star in "My Christmas Dream", also known as "Suddenly Santa." I'm sure Danica will announce which movie title they are officially going with, for her Christmas movie, on Tuesday!

    2. Danica posted on Facebook live that the final official title for her Christmas movie will be called "My Christmas Dream"

    3. Thank you for that update, Anonymous! I like the new title.

  4. They also officially announced today that Oct 29 will also mark the beginning of the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas, just like on the main Hallmark Channel.

There was a press release about that a couple of months back (a separate one for HMM). They're actually starting the movies on the night of Friday, October 28th, for both channels. The only reason they are singling out the 29th on social media (for both channels) is because that is the "first full day" of movies. But the movies begin on 10/28.

I find that sometimes it helps when I break things down into list format and categorize what's what. I'll do that here for the readers, so they can get a sense of what is known and what is not known; what we are hoping to find out during the Home & Family announcement, etc. I'll break it up into 2 posts.

These are the 19 new movies that have been announced for this year's Countdown to Christmas, on the main Hallmark Channel:

    -- A Wish for Christmas - w/ Lacey Chabert & Paul Greene

-- The Mistletoe Promise - w/ Jaime King & Luke Macfarlane

-- Christmas Makeover - w/ Lori Loughlin & Colin Ferguson

-- Christmas Cookies - w/ Jill Wagner & Wes Brown

    -- Suddenly Santa a.k.a. My Christmas Dream - w/ Danica McKellar & David Haydn-Jones

    -- A December Bride - w/ Jessica Lowndes & Daniel Lissing

-- The Christmas Bucket List - w/ Alicia Witt

    -- Christmas Expectations

-- When Calls the Heart Christmas movie - w/ the usual WCTH cast

-- A Rose Parade New Year

    -- A Christmas Broadcast

    -- A Prince for Christmas - w/ Jaime Pressly

    -- A Worthwhile Life

-- Angel in Training a.k.a. Christmas Angel in Training a.k.a. Christmas Angel (Hallmark Hall of Fame movie)

    -- A Curveball Christmas

-- Joy to the World - w/ Brooke Shields

    -- Nutcracker

    -- Runaway Sleigh

    -- The Sound of Christmas

Of those 19 titles listed above, these are the movies for which we don't know the leading male love interests:

-- A Prince for Christmas w/ Jaime Pressly

-- Joy to the World w/ Brooke Shields

-- The Christmas Bucket List w/ Alicia Witt

And, of the 19 titles listed above, these are the movies for which no cast info is known at all:

    -- Christmas Expectations

-- A Rose Parade New Year

    -- A Christmas Broadcast

    -- A Worthwhile Life

-- Angel in Training a.k.a. Christmas Angel in Training a.k.a. Christmas Angel (Hallmark Hall of Fame movie)

    -- A Curveball Christmas

    -- Nutcracker

    -- Runaway Sleigh

    -- The Sound of Christmas

Of the 19 titles in the Countdown to Christmas, these are the movies that, to our knowledge, have not yet been filmed (or if they were, they were filmed off the radar, when no one was looking):

-- The Christmas Bucket List w/ Alicia Witt (this one starts production in a few days)

    -- Christmas Expectations

-- A Rose Parade New Year (this one is starting in a few days)

    -- A Christmas Broadcast

    -- A Prince for Christmas - w/ Jaime Pressly

-- A Worthwhile Life (I think this one might be starting soon)

-- Angel in Training a.k.a. Christmas Angel in Training a.k.a. Christmas Angel (Hallmark Hall of Fame movie -- this one is starting in a few days)

    -- A Curveball Christmas

-- Joy to the World - w/ Brooke Shields

-- Nutcracker (I think this one is starting soon too)

-- Runaway Sleigh (this one is starting in a week or two)

    -- The Sound of Christmas

These are the actresses who are definitely supposed to be appearing in movies this year, but we don't know which ones:

    Rachel Boston

    Candace Cameron-Bure

(There are other actresses we -- meaning Net and I, and the other sleuths on the case! -- suspect might be doing movies, but I won't list them yet because there is no proof as of right now.)

Part 2 -- Continuing on with my previous post, breaking down what we know and don't know about this year's Hallmark Christmas movies...

I already covered the main Hallmark Channel. Now, over on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel, there are supposed to be 7 new movies in the Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas event. The only ones that have been announced by Hallmark directly are:

-- Operation Christmas -- w/ Tricia Helfer & Marc Blucas

-- Pair of Jacks -- w/ Mena Suvari, John Reardon & James Brolin

-- Finding Father Christmas -- w/ Erin Krakow & Niall Matter

However, also expected to air on HMM this year are:

-- Love Always, Santa -- w/ Marguerite Moreau & Mike Faiola

-- Each Precious Heartbeat -- w/ Emilie Ullerup, Kristoffer Polaha, Crystal Lowe & Kimberly Sustad

(The other 2 new Christmas movies coming to HMM are, thus far, unknown.)

These movies were originally supposed to air on one Hallmark channel or the other this year, but either the statuses changed or they are now up in the air:

    -- A Snow Capped Christmas -- w/ Leah Renee & Niall Matter

-- A Family for Christmas (cast unknown; now scheduled for 2017)

-- Sleigh Bell Sweethearts (cast unknown; author Teri Wilson said that they are trying to get it on the air this year, but that is not definite; it might end up in the 2017 line-up)

-- Christmas Villa -- w/ Hilarie Burton, Victor Webster & Cristina Rosato (if it is given the okay, it will probably end up in the 2017 line-up)

-- A Puppy for Christmas -- w/ Cindy Busby, Greyston Holt & Christopher Russell (is now set to premiere on the UPtv network this holiday season)

    1. They all sound so great... how will we ever find time to watch them all!?!?!

      A wonderful dilemma!!!

  8. Paul and Danica; another stunning couple and I'm really looking forward to seeing him paired with Lacey.

Home and Family just isn't the same without Christine. She was so warm and inviting and during the holidays her prayers brought me to tears...so beautiful. Apparently it wasn't her choice. Hallmark, Christine was Home and Family!!!

    2. I totally get that, Susan. A member of the family is missing, that's why it feels different.

    3. So true, Linda. It seems there is a lot more to the story then what was initially revealed to the viewers. I, too, miss Cristina Ferrare on Home & Family. She was like the Mother or Big Sister to everyone. Her joy & enthusiasm simply cannot be replaced.

    1. That is a wonderful idea, Eddie! Even though I have seen 'The Christmas Card' numerous times since that first showing... any time it is on, the movie always draws me back in. It's one of those truly special ones, for sure, and an anniversary celebration of it would be fantastic! Hope someone at Hallmark sees this!

Well, a correction to the post I just compiled earlier tonight, with what we know and don't know about what's coming to the Hallmark channel:

Rachel Boston is the leading lady in "A Rose Parade New Year." Still no leading man, although someone is on our radar.

Okay, so... although I fully expect things to change quite a few times before 10/28, it looks like the Countdown to Christmas schedule is slooooooooowly starting to populate on the Hallmark Channel website!!! It's 7 weeks away!!!!

Right now it appears that "A Christmas Melody" will be starting off the Countdown on the night of 10/28. I found "Snow Bride" and "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" too. "One Starry Christmas" is on there as well.

The interesting thing I noticed -- and you know I have been saying all along that there would be some sort of new movie on either 10/29 or 10/30, because it's the starting weekend of the Countdown -- is that it looks as though "A Perfect Christmas" is going to air in that prime spot on Saturday, 10/29!

Last year, what Hallmark did with the new movie in July (Lacey's movie, "Family for Christmas") was rebroadcast it as an official premiere in December. It was only shown once in July, so they could still call it a "new" movie in December.

It looks like a similar thing is happening this year -- "A Perfect Christmas" sneak previewed once in July, but will have its official premiere in October this time, instead of in November or December.

So, THAT may be the "new" movie on the kickoff weekend, if nothing brand new is scheduled for 10/30. A lot of people probably missed "A Perfect Christmas" in July since it only aired one time, so it will be brand new to them when it airs on 10/29.

Since "A Perfect Christmas" is airing on 10/29, then there may or may not be a new movie on 10/30. At that rate, Hallmark may just air the first totally new, never-before-seen movie (the Lacey-Paul movie) on 11/5, as we saw in the press release. It will be interesting to see if they put anything new into the 10/30 line-up.
