It's so sad to see the end of the 2015 Christmas movie season. They were all so fun and good (or those I've seen were). At least we still have Hallmark's "winter" movies to enjoy! :D
ReplyDeleteYes! It is so sad to see them go! I never want the Christmas Season to end. However, you are so right, Rissi - Hallmark's Winterfest line-up looks fantastic!
DeleteAnd, I have some Christmas movies recorded, too! To watch after Christmas!!! :)
The plot for A Christmas Melody is wrong. Mariah Carey plays the PTA mother rival in the movie not the music teacher.
ReplyDeleteThank you for noticing that. I have it updated now! Enjoy the movie!!!
DeleteOh, my, so many movies, so little time left but I'll be watching "A Christmas Melody" tonight. Can't wait to see Mariah, Lacey and Brennan in this one and me too, Net, I'll be watching Christmas movies long after the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI'll also be watching Christmas movies all-year long. I haven't watched any of the offerings from Lifetime or Ion but I have them on the DVR. I usually watch at least one a week, usually on the weekend, and can enjoy Christmas well into the Spring! I've seen a lot of the Hallmark movies. Most have been forgettable but I didn't enjoy a couple that were on Hallmark Mysteries & Movies. "The Christmas Note" was good because it wasn't the same old - Woman looking to fall in love with a man for the holidays-type plot. Nice change of pace. Also enjoyed The Christmas Stocking which had some really nice acting, and decent chemistry between the two leads.
ReplyDeleteChristmas Melody was a lot of fun. My fav is tied with Dashing Through the Snow, The Magic Stocking, The Christmas Note and Christmas Inc.

Christmas Land was so fun and had a cute romance! The lead actress was fantastic. More of the movies need to be filmed in Utah!

After seeing this movie -- which I quite enjoyed -- I have decided that I want Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott to be paired up for a 3rd movie. I love them as an onscreen couple! They are fantastic together. I had never even considered the two of them as a Hallmark couple until seeing the charming "All of My Heart," and even then I thought that the chemistry they exhibited in that movie may be a fluke. Once again, in "A Christmas Melody," they were wonderful together -- and it was actually their scenes that I most looked forward to while watching.
ReplyDeletehave read many blogs in the net but have never come across such a well written blog. Good work keep it up
ReplyDeleteMariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You
Ohhhhhh....Sherry, I agree!! Aren't they the new "Power Couple"? I too looked forward to seeing them throughout the movie and hope Hallmark pairs them again. I really enjoyed "A Christmas Melody" and by the way, can Brennan sing or what?? LOL!!
ReplyDeleteLinda -- Was Brennan really playing the piano and the guitar (even if only for a few seconds)? Between that, the singing and the acting, he is impressing me much more each time I see him! I never really followed "Cedar Cove" or anything else he had done prior to "All of My Heart," but he has got a lot of charisma and is a very natural actor. He and Lacey are, indeed, a Hallmark Power Couple. I was riveted to the screen every time they did a scene together -- they are a couple that just seems to make sense.
DeleteOkay, here I go...Brennan and Lacey are adorable together and have such good chemistry...BUT...what was up with Mariah Carey not being in any scenes with others? It was so distracting to see only close ups of her face and with no one else in the shot. Was anyone else put off by that? It seems she filmed her scenes alone. Weird!
ReplyDeleteI loved the movie, though, but MC's mean character could have been played by another actress and it would have been fine.
Sherry, don't know if he was playing the piano but that was him singing. I've only seen him in a not so good light so "All of My Heart" really changed my mind and with this movie he stole my heart! Hopefully we'll see them together again.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe we're done with this year's batch of movies! I'm going to do a bit of a rewatch over the weekend and get my top 10 list of the year - I always love doing that. I hope you make a summary post also and maybe let us post our rankings as well?
ReplyDeleteSome lovely stuff in that final weekend. A Christmas Melody was so/so in terms of story but add me to the list of those who would love seeing Lacey and Brennan together - absolutely loved them in All of My Heart and they really work well together.
Christmas Land was a nice surprise - wasn't sure about it from the preview, but really liked the leads together. My only issue, and that's a repeat issue from other similar movies - can't stand it when the current boyfriend of the female lead is so obviously "bad". I think you can make it obvious that they want different things and incompatible without making him into an actual villain.
My favorite of the weekend was The Spirit of Christmas, actually. The supernatural Christmas movies are always a hit or miss for me, but this one kept my interest all the way through, and was different from the other movies. It was good to see a different story.
Wow! Christmas Land did fantastic in the ratings! It did better than Mariah's movie and I thought that would be the highest rated movie.
ReplyDeleteI hope Christmas Land is put on DVD!
Misty
I also thought that "A Christmas Melody" was going to be the highest rated movie this Christmas season. I remember saying back in November on Net's "Christmas Land" cast reveal post that I hoped "Christmas Land" would get good ratings and positive responses from the critics and audience. I also remember saying that "Christmas Land" was the underdog of all Hallmark Channel's new Christmas movies. To hear that "Christmas Land" succeeded beyond expectations is amazing! Making a guess on the movie that really achieved the largest number of viewers this Christmas season, my guess would be "Coat of Many Colors".
DeleteAny chance they will.put this one on DVD also once upon a holiday?
ReplyDeleteNo one knows (yet) which movies will end up on DVD beyond the ones that are already on DVD at Walmart, but I would be shocked if "A Christmas Melody" did not make it to DVD by the end of this year. Not only do the Hallmark fans want more movies on DVD, Mariah Carey has a lot of fans. I think it will get to DVD.
Delete"Once Upon a Holiday" is one that I am hoping gets to DVD, but it's hard to say whether it will. I don't know what exactly determines which movies are released on DVD and which ones are not, but I have a feeling that it's not entirely Hallmark's decision. There might be other parties (production companies, etc.) involved in the distribution. There are so many movies that have never been released on DVD, while others have, so it's always a surprise to see which ones are chosen each year!
Also, it took 2 full years for "Let it Snow" and "Snow Bride" to get to DVD, so it's always possible that some of 2015's new movies might not get released until 2017.
