*Please know: this movie is a Mystery/Crime Drama,
that involves kidnapping and violence.
In my opinion, this is NOT a movie for young children.

My family and I....would love to see The Christmas List....with Mimi Rogers and Stella Stevens....This movie has not been shown in so many years......Please...show The Christmas List.......from 1997....
ReplyDeleteMe too!!! I LOVE "The Christmas List" with Mimi Rogers! The Perfume Lady! It's an all-time favorite of mine!
Delete"The Christmas List" is actually an ABC Family original movie... so let's hope they decide to play it this year. If they do, it typically receives an early morning airing - so you have to be sure to look out for it.
But, since Hallmark purchased "Deck the Halls" from TNT, I would love to see them get "The Christmas List" from ABC Family, as well as "Christmas Everyday", "Borrowed Hearts", etc...
Thank you for your comment! :)
I know that "The Christmas List" used to run a lot more often -- every holiday season -- in years past, but I know I didn't just see it on ABC Family. It popped up on another channel at some point too. Could it have ever aired on Lifetime in the distant past? Or maybe I saw it on ABC (not ABC Family), late at night.
DeleteAlso, I am fairly certain that "The Christmas List" WAS on the schedule for some channel or another, only one time, if not last year then in 2013. The catch is that I think I saw it in the listings as I was flipping through the cable menu, and I believe it was showing on a channel where I would not have expected to find Christmas movies. In other words, when I stumbled upon it either last year or in 2013, it was not on Lifetime, UP, Insp, ABC Family, Ion or Hallmark. It was on some random channel that I usually paid no attention to -- it may have even been a local, independent channel or affiliate of a larger channel.
All I know is that it caught my attention because I had started to see a lot of online comments about "The Christmas List" and how much people loved it, and I thought "Oh, here it is... it's kind of hidden in the cable menu!"
The movie with Julie Andrews and James Garner -- "One Special Night" -- is another movie that sometimes ends up on obscure, random, local channels every so often. So I might see it, but that doesn't mean that someone in New York would see it.
Thank you for your warning on Deck the Halls. My husband and I watched it and enjoyed it together, but you were so right, it would not have been good for our 6 year old to see Santa, as a kidnapper. Thanks to you, we didn't watch this with her, as we usually let Hallmark movies play freely with her in the room. This one would have been too scary for her and I don't think she would have understood Santa being so mean. Thank you 100 times over for your warning. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I could help, and you caught my warning on this one. I thought the creepy Santa's might be too scary for little ones.
DeleteBtw, for others wondering... It is a fun mystery for grown ups - there are a few choice words- I caught 1 "d" and 1 "a", and don't be thrown off by the first scene, in the bar... it looks kind of bad, at first, but the woman is undercover - trying to catch a criminal.
Other than that... it was a decent drama-type mystery movie, and it was fun to see Kathy Najimy from "How to Fall in Love" as Alvirah Meegan. She gives everything she has to her characters, and she's a joy to watch!
So good to hear - you enjoyed it, too! Thank you for sharing!
I'm so happy Lacey did another Christmas movie; I so enjoy her!! I did catch "Deck the Halls" and Kathy Najimy is a scream!! She has her own distinct personality and brings it all to the show!!
