A Scoop on Hallmark. Christmas. 2015.

Santa may be on vacation now, but the Hallmark team, coming off their Christmas 2014 seasonal victory of great ratings, are working hard to deliver a new season of Christmas Movies to our TVs for 2015!

It's no secret, that there are a lot of new mystery series coming this year to Hallmark - specifically on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries... but, this post isn't about that... no, it's about my scoop on the upcoming Christmas Movies coming THIS YEAR - this upcoming 2015 Christmas Season! And, this scoop, is Delicious!

Here's a little information I have scooped, thus far...

In an interview with Parade Magazine's online site - Parade.com... Michelle Vicary, executive vice president of programming and network publicity for Crown Media Family Networks, home of Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, talks about the success of the 2014 Hallmark Christmas and shares an inside look at the upcoming 2015 season.

Here's "the scoop"...

In the article Michelle Vicary shares, "We’ve got 14 [original movies] on the development plate so far, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that number inches up closer to 20 across the two networks."

Wow!!! I think that is exciting news! That means there could potentially be nearly 20 new Christmas Movies for the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries this upcoming Christmas Season! For the 2014 Christmas Season, there were 14 movies on both networks, 12 from the Hallmark Channel, and two from Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Six more Christmas movies would be truly incredible!

For now, we only have two confirmed titles for Christmas, 2015- North Pole 2 and Karen Kingsbury's The Bridge.... so, we have lots more Christmas Movies to look forward to discovering!

I certainly hope the quality can match the quantity.

If you happen to hear, of one of these Christmas movies, please e-mail me or leave a comment on my site, and I will share the news with everyone!!!

  4. Yikes! 20 movies is great. I just hope I have the time to see them all. The only problem with all these new movies is that all my old favorites are going to get less showings.

  8. I do look forward to seeing these new Christmas movies and I'm very excited to see that they are increasing the number of movies that they will be putting out. I just hope that the quality that we have come to expect from all Hallmark movies will not deteriorate from increasing the number of new movies. I feel that the quality of the Hallmark movies that were released in January and at Valentines did reflects a deterioration in quality. I don't know if that was because they did so many of them so close to Christmas or what. The two movies I'm primarily talking about are "A Wish Come True" and "I Do, I Do, I Do". I still I'm looking forward to the 2015 Hallmark Christmas movies and also to see which ones that they will release on DVD. Has anyone heard if Hallmark has any plans to make their seasons longer on there new series that they are putting out. Their TV series just do not last long enough. I believe it's like 10 or 12 episodes each. it would also be nice to see Hallmark putting a TV series on another night other than Saturday night.

  10. The way it worked last year was that there were 12 new movies officially considered to be part of the Countdown to Christmas, but there were actually 13 new movies on Hallmark because of the Hall of Fame debut as well ("One Christmas Eve"). The Movies & Mysteries Channel had 2 new movies....... And, let's not forget, Hallmark had the TV premiere of "Angels Sing" last July, even though it was not a made-for-Hallmark movie............ But...today (4/1/15)... I was just working at the computer, with the Hallmark Channel on in the background. During a commercial break for "Home & Family" a commercial for this year's Countdown to Christmas popped up! I turned around and nearly fell out of my chair. I replayed the ad, and it said that "15 all new movies" are coming this year. So I am guessing that means that there will be 15 new official Countdown movies, and that 15 may or may not include a new Hall of Fame Christmas movie as well, or the HoF movie could be extra. Whatever is left over (the other 4 or 5 movies) will go to the Movies & Mysteries Channel, I suppose............. The commercial said nothing about Christmas in July, but I wonder if it's possible that one movie could debut then if any of the movies are finished shooting?

    1. I saw it, too, just this morning- also during Home & Family! Amazing, right? I think the 15 movies will be just for the Hallmark Channel. As you mentioned, will that include the Hall of Fame movie? I don't know? And, then who knows how many will be created for the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel? In my post above - Hallmark officials were planning nearly 20, across both networks, so I wouldn't be surprised if HMM had 5 or more!

So glad you caught it, too... and I appreciate you sharing it here! Have a great day!

    1. Great idea, Monica!!! I love the thought of Hallmark continuing the story of one of our favorite Christmas movies, however, it would be vital for them to re-cast all the same actors and actresses to make the story feel authentic! Btw, I also like the 2 movies you chose!
