Movie Review:

It’s a cookie baking challenge on 'A Cookie Cutter Christmas'!

Mix actress Erin Krakow of 'When Calls the Heart' with the Hallmark Channel and you have a wholesome lighthearted Christmas Movie for the entire family!

Be sure to grab some milk and cookies… and enjoy this refreshing treat!

Christie (Erin Krakow) and Penny (Miranda Frigon) have been rivals since they were little girls. All grown up now, and working at the same school, as elementary teachers, hasn’t changed things, at all. The rivalry between the two has only intensified, especially when a new little girl comes to the school and her father, James (David Haydn-Jones), is single.

Typically not interested in baking, Christie decides to join the Cookie Baking Contest, anyway. She says it’s to help win for her class and charity, but it’s clear she also wants to beat Penny, and maybe look good in front of James, too, in the process.

Will Christie’s plan to win the bake-off succeed or will it crash and burn, like a forgotten batch of cookies in the oven? Perhaps, a memory from childhood and the truth… are the only things that will set them both free.

A Cookie Cutter Christmas will add just the right “dash” of Christmas Spirit to entertain you and your family this Christmas “Season”!

  1. I am a fan of syrupy sweet Christmas flicks, but even so, this one was just ok. The lead female character did not seem very likable, and showing single elementary-shool teachers living in huge, gorgeous houses with gourmet kitchens and driving Lexus SUVs seemed too over-the-top. Still, the main couple is very attractive and it fits the feel-good formula.

    1. I absolutely agree with you on the grand houses and SUVs. I, too, thought they were a little too much for young single elementary school teachers. It is certainly, as you call it, a "syrupy sweet" movie and definitely "feel good"... especially in the end!

  2. Just have a question about this movie. I do not get Hallmark:( but want to see this movie and was really excited that it was going to come on DVD. I was going to order from WalMart but in the description it said it has mature themes and you have to be over 17 to purchase this movie. My question is ... is this true or is it suitable for the entire family to watch? If you could let me know, that would be great.

    1. Oh my goodness... I cannot imagine why it would say "mature themes". A Cookie Cutter Christmas with Erin Krakow is the heart of every Hallmark Christmas movie... it is wholesome, family-friendly, and very "G" rated! I have the cover of the DVD featured above under the cast list. Is this the same one you are looking at? If so, this Movie is appropriate for ALL Ages. Very Decent. No Language or Adult Situations. A Couple shares a sweet quick kiss at the end. That's it. Hope that helps!

    2. Yes that helps a whole lot thanks so much. The one you have pictured is the one I was bought at Wal-Mart. Wanted to double check the content though before I opened it, so that I could still take it back if necessary. What I was reading was on WalMart's website and not the DVD cover itself. So I don't know what was up with the description on their site. Anyway thanks so much for the info and I hope you have a wonderful day!

  3. I just finished watching the movie. Who played the male teacher who was in the final three? I believe he was called Roland. I could not find his name anywhere. Thanks!
