ALL things NEW...

I so hope you have all had a wonderful start to this new year! It is always a wonderful moment, when the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, celebrating with family and ringing in the new year - 2014! We remember fondly the year that has passed and with prayer and our trust in the Lord, we look forward to all that might be in this year ahead.

Just a few days into this New Year, and we were snowed in (here in the Mid-West) with 14+ inches of Snow and Snow Drifts that were 4-6 feet high! We didn’t have a White Christmas, but we have certainly made up for it – with a White New Year! Everything looks so beautiful and fresh covered with a thick white blanket of snow. Plus, like most of the country, we have had bitter cold temps… one day the wind chill reached -39 degrees. Yes, that number is negative, minus 39! Brrrr! We must have been colder than the North Pole. Santa could have moved his workshop here! However, I don’t know if Rudolph could have even made it through that Blizzard. But that’s okay… Santa is on a much needed and well deserved vacation now.

Since Christmas, I have also been catching up with some of the Christmas Movies I didn’t see during the Christmas Season. Some have been pretty good, and others, well… let’s just say some have been interesting. I am planning to do the annual list of Favorites – so I don’t want to influence you with what I liked best – so I’ll hold off my reviews until later.

Although, I would like to say how wonderful the Hallmark Channel was during the Christmas Season. Since most of their movies are Family-Friendly, I knew there was always a place to turn to and enjoy with the family… day or night. You absolutely deserved the great ratings you received. Also, it was nice to have INSP and UP, too, for nice family Christmas Movies. I am sure I would have loved HMC, the Hallmark Movie Channel, too – if I had that station.

To all of you who visit here… Happy New Year to all of you! I hope you continue to enjoy the adventure of “It’s a Wonderful Movie” this year with me. This weekend I am so looking forward to the first episode of the Hallmark Channel’s new family TV series: When Calls the Heart, which is being directed by Michael Landon, Jr. Actress Lori Loughlin (who you may know from the sitcom Full House as Aunt Becky or from her Hallmark Channel Movie, Garage Sale Mystery) said “it’s like Little House on the Prairie meets Romance Novel.” I am delighted that this will be a new drama series the whole family can watch together!

God’s Blessings to You All for a Safe and Happy New Year, 2014!

  9. Hi Net,
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I've written you several times in the past few mos., but I never see the comments I've written. Anyway, I hope you're seeing them, somewhere, and I sure hope you're having a great New Year, and things are going well for you and your family. I appreciate, so much, all the effort and hard work you put into sending out these list of great movies and when they will be coming on. This is really helpful, so I don't have to look through a paper, or scroll through the guide on the t.v. to try to keep up with things.
Have a great day and may God bless you.
