  2. I absolutely love this series except for one thing, there are two episodes that are missing not yet on DVD. I recorded all of them, watched them with my family but we were all confused and could not figure out what order they went in since Love Comes Softy was the first we caught, Love Begins never came on yet nor did Love's Everlasting Courage which is not on DVD yet so we didn't get to see how Clark lost his wife and came to be a widower. Then the saga goes on but Marty isn't in the pictur for a few of them, don't know what happened or know how she died, if she did. And last, the last one isn't on dvd yet, so we don't know how it ends with Loves Christmas Journey. This was the last movie series I watched with my mother as she was dying with cancer & lost my sister 30 days before mom passed. I love this series & it means a lot to have this. please email me at lmayewski@yahoo.com when they are ALL available.

    1. I found all of them either at my local video store, or the library. Amazon has the entire set for $55 - http://www.amazon.com/Love-Comes-Softly-Anniversary-Collection/dp/B009A87WU4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1389451508&sr=8-2&keywords=love+comes+softly

    2. Yes, Amazon has a 10 DVD Movie Set of this "Love Comes Softly" Collection for one great price! I saw it this morning for around $30!

Here's the link to see what the price is today:
      http://www.amazon.com

The only movie you have to purchase separately, is "Love's Christmas Journey", which is longer than your typical 1 hour and 30 min. movie, and is actually one of my favorites! This movie is actually 2 hours and 52 minutes. The original 10 movies are all in that one DVD collection.

      Hope that helps!

  3. This is best and most simplest list I have ever seen for all of the Love Comes Softly Movies. I have always wondered how each one goes after the other whenever I watch one on the Hallmark Channel so reading your list was very helpful. Thank you. I enjoyed the short descriptions from each movie, too. I hope there will be another.

  4. This is a great list but actually Love's Christmas Journey of 4 hours starts the whole saga with Clark. I watched the others for years starting with Love Comes Softly but there are three that lead up to this one. Fantastic series, now watching When the Heart Calls, great.

    1. The order above is correct. "Love's Christmas Journey" is the last film in the series and the two main characters are Clark and Marty's children: Aaron and Ellie. Love's Christmas Journey tells their family stories, adventures, and Ellie's love story.

"Love Begins" and "Love's Everlasting Courage" tells the prequel story of Clark's life before he meets Marty.

  5. I just can't watch these movies as they differ so much (in my opinion) from the books. I wish they would have kept them as close to the book plots as possible.

    1. I agree, Marie. I loved the book series. It's disappointing to see how different the series was portrayed from the way Janette Oke originally wrote it in her books. But, I do enjoy the decency of the movies and the prairie life.

  6. I am confused. I though Clark and Marty's kids were Aaron, Arnie and Missy. Who is Ellie in the Christmas one?

    1. Yes, I heard. Jennifer shared this news in the comments under the post regarding the passing of James Garner. I am still shocked and saddened for her dear family and friends. She was a wonderful little actress. I know many of us Love Comes Softly fans will always remember her fondly.

  9. I used my hopper and set it to record the series on pixl, INSPIRED and Hallmark. Love Takes Wings is set to record. The only one I need is Love's Christmas Journey. I'm setting it to seek & record it once it does play.

  10. These movies don't deserve to be banned after the book!! It's painful to think about all the changes try made. They COMPLETELY changed the plot after enduring promise onward. And in that one the skip the first half of the book. And the first two movies don't even exist in the series!!! They are good movies, but only if you can manage to forget that they are supposedly based on the books

    1. You are right. The books and the movies are almost completely different. Tell everyone not to read the books if they want to watch the movies.

  13. I've watched these series on tbn, I'm confused. If love beings was filmed in 2011 and it's the first of the series why was it that loves everlasting courage says it was filmed in 2010? Also confusing what happened to Ellen's sister Cassie and please explain while is Ellie? Missy had one son and adopted another who then married the sheriffs daughter what happend to them; and what happened to Matthew (Matt) and what happend to Belinda's brother? I've never read the books I've only watched the movies...totally confused.

    1. I know, it can be rather confusing... some characters were simply not included in further movies, or some left town for various reasons. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to continue the story of Cassie because these movies were a prequel and all the following movies had already been done many years before.

Sadly, some character's whereabouts are never full explained.

    2. Thank you so much for your reply. How about the different years? Do you know why Love beings was filmed in 2011 and loves everlasting courage in 2010 where she dies? Also confusing LOL sorry for all the questions.

    1. "Love Comes Softly," the first movie in the series, premiered on the Hallmark Channel in 2003. Subsequently, many of the other period films followed continuing the story of the Davis family.

Then, they decided to go back and give a prequel to the story with "Love Begins" and "Love's Everlasting Courage." "Love Begins" original air date on the Hallmark Channel was September 17, 2011 and "Love's Everlasting Courage" first aired on October 1, 2011. (I'm not sure where you saw 2010. Could that have been when I first posted the movie information?)

Thank you for your questions, Lillian. It is a remarkable series of movies, which at times, unfortunately gives us more questions than answers. I appreciate each movie, but do wish there hadn't been so many women left as widows. That particularly storyline was repeated too often in my opinion, and was not something that occurred in the books.

Again, thank you for commenting! Blessings to you, Net

    2. Sorry for sending the same question. I watched all the series on TBN (Turner Boardcasting Network) the Christian channel. Thank you for clearing the confusion. I guess TBN then or whomever posts the years on the infor part of cable. That's why it was confusing to me. Thanks again Net truly appreciate it <3 blessing to you :)

    3. Thank you, Lillian! What a sweet message! I have watched them on TBN, too, which is awesome! No commercials!!! Love it and all the beautiful, heartwarming stories from the prairie!

  15. Can someone give the exact order to watch all 11 movies

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes! All you have to do is watch them in the order I have above, Lady Bugg! This order goes according to the story and the lives of the characters. I know it's a bit confusing because the first two movies (listed above) were actually filmed after some of the others, but if you want to follow the story in order, you should start with Love Begins... and follow it all the way from there... with Love's Everlasting Courage next, then Love Comes Softly, and so on....

I hope that is helpful advice for you. I have seen all the movies and enjoyed them all, mostly, very much!

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask!

      Blessings, Net
