The first Christmas Snow...

Yesterday, we awoke (in the Midwest) to our first Christmas Season dusting of Snowfall. By afternoon the snow was melting away, slowly revealing the green grass beneath it... and today, we only have a few patches here and there, leftover. I don't imagine they'll last long... but it was beautiful for a short time and certainly looked a lot more like Christmas!

As I write today, I am listening to one of the Christmas Music Stations on Direct TV... Holiday Traditions - Channel 801, and they are playing Bing Crosby singing White Christmas... isn't that perfect! Another Christmas Station I like on Direct TV is the Holly Station - Channel 819. They play Christmas Music all day!

" I'm dreaming of a White Christmas, just like the ones I used to know... "

Also, thinking of Bing Crosby, reminds me of his wonderful old Christmas Specials. They were always filled with beautiful Christmas Music and family. I caught only a little of the beginning of Carrie Underwood's Holiday Special on Fox. I was very disappointed in what I saw. The show opened with her latest song, Cowboy Casanova - NOT a great way to start a Christmas Show - she was plugging her latest hit with men in shredded looking clothing dancing around her. Like I said, I was very disappointed. I turned it off and turned it back on 10 or so minutes later to see her singing "Before He Cheats" in the tightest black leather pants and the cheapest looking Black platform heels. I turned it off once again. I am sad to see the change in such a wonderful tradition of Christmas Music Specials that should have a down-home warm feeling of the Christmas Season.
