NEW YORK, NY – April 23, 2024 – Great American Family, one of the nation’s leading producers of original holiday content, announced Danica McKellar (A Royal Date for Christmas, Swing Into Romance) and Oliver Rice (“Firefly Lane,” Magic In Mistletoe) are set to star in, A Royal Christmas Ball (wt), which begins production this week. A Royal Christmas Ball, with waltzes choreographed by “Dancing With the Stars” professional dancer Gleb Savchencko, premieres this November as part of Great American Christmas 2024.

In A Royal Christmas Ball, Chelsea Jones (McKellar) is a dance instructor and studio owner in Chicago who inspires kids to find themselves through dance. Just before Christmas, Chelsea discovers a photo she’s never seen before. Chelsea thinks the young woman is her birth mother who passed away when she was only five years old. The woman is in a wedding dress tugging on the hand of a man wearing a wedding ring, but that is all that can be seen of the man Chelsea believes may be her father. The photo’s handwritten inscription reads, “Our place, Havenshire, December 23, 1984.” With only the internet, a plane ticket, and lifelong determination to go on, Chelsea now has four days in Havenshire to solve the mystery of her birth family. Along the way, she’ll have to sneak into a castle, teach a stubborn Prince how to dance, and be in just the right place on Christmas Eve when the bells toll.

My Quick Take:

Well, first of all, congratulations to Danica McKellar for seeing this film idea of hers finally coming into fruition. I know it has been many years in-the-making, and I'm most happy for her.

I did have a hunch that professional dancer Gleb Savchencko (who was Danica's dance partner on “Dancing With the Stars”) might be involved with this production, since I was expecting Danica's movie to revolve around dancing. And I must say Gleb's performance in Swing into Romance with Danica was excellent. In fact, I believe he's just as good as an actor, as he is on the dance floor. However, it doesn't sound as if he'll be in front of the camera at all for this movie, which is unfortunate if that ends up being the case.

Actor Oliver Rice has the honor of playing opposite of Danica in A Royal Christmas Ball, and I must admit, I'm still getting used to the idea. Honestly, he wasn't on my bingo card to play Danica's opposite this year. I was thinking of perhaps Matthew Morrison, Drew Seeley, or Joey Lawrence, based on the fact that dancing will be majorly involved, and I know all three are phenomenal dancers. However, I can definitely imagine Oliver playing the role of the stubborn prince while using his English accent.

So, I look forward to hopefully seeing some sneak-peeks of Danica and Oliver acting/dancing together, as they will be filming their Christmas movie for Great American Family soon!

Okay, so I asked above if you have ever been to Niagara Falls or seen a waterfall in person? Please give your response in the comments below.

As for myself... I have not seen Niagara Falls in person, yet, but while on a trip with my family once, we happened to see a sign that was for a large waterfall. Well, we had some extra time, and the waterfall was in a small town, so we followed the signs, and there it was! I remember that exhilarating feeling of awe as we walked over to see it closer up. It was one of those solemn moments when everyone is quiet and just takes it all in. Words can hardly express. The waterfall was gorgeous, breathtaking, and magnificent... another masterpiece by God! I remember seeing all the various vivid colors of white and blue mixed together and the loud slushing sound of rushing water falling over the rocky ledge. It was truly an incredible sight to behold, peaceful and soothing. I don't recall the specific name of the waterfall, but its beauty and that special moment shared with my family will remain with me for a lifetime.

What does Psalm 42:7 mean? via bibleref.com:

The phrase "deep calls to deep" can reflect a few possible meanings. One is that the deep waves and waterfalls are being followed by other, equally deep waves. This would imply a constant barrage: an unending chain of these overwhelming feelings and experiences. Another interpretation is that the depths of the psalmist's desire for God (Psalm 42:1) call out for an intense response from the Lord. Either connects to similar phrasing used in the book of Jonah, when Jonah recalls his experience being swallowed by a sea creature (Jonah 2:3).

When trials sweep over a believer, he can take courage, knowing that the Lord has a purpose in allowing those trials. Trials have the capacity to draw believers closer to the Lord if they see them as serving the Lord's purpose. In Romans 5:3–5, Paul explains that "we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." In love, God allows trials to inflict believers, not to make them bitter, but to make them better.

NEW YORK, NY – April 15, 2024 – Great American Family announced it has completed production on what is sure to be one of the most anticipated new holiday films of the season – A Christmas Less Traveled, starring Candace Cameron Bure (My Christmas Hero, A Christmas Present) and Eric Johnson (Call Me Mrs. Miracle, “Flash Gordon”) which premieres this November as part of Great American Christmas 2024.

In A Christmas Less Traveled, “The Dine and Dash” diner has a stack of mounting unpaid bills, forcing its owner, Desi (Bure) to sell her beloved, mint condition, cherry red 1964 Ford F-100, a gift from her deceased father. As Desi visits the vintage truck one last time, she discovers a recorded message from her dad on an old audio cassette. Desi’s Dad’s voice sends her and “Old Red” out to retrace her family’s most memorable moments one last time. Just as the journey begins, Desi meets Greyson (Johnson) who offers her a generous payment in exchange for a ride to “close the most important deal” of his life. Little do Desi and Greyson realize the less traveled road will reveal more about each of them than they could have ever known.

I'm already loving the look of Candace's new movie, and I can't wait to go on this adventure with her and Eric Johnson, who I'm sooo glad to see is making movies again. Love him already in Call Me Mrs. Miracle, and I'm sure A Christmas Less Traveled will be another favorite!
