More Hallmark Movie News- including Christmas!

image: Hallmark Channel instagram

Pictured above, from the set of "Wedding at Graceland," is Eric Close ("Christmas in the Air), director of the Graceland films, Priscilla Presley, who was married to Elvis, and will have a cameo role in the new Graceland movie, and Kellie Pickler and Wes Brown, who are reprising their roles from the previous film.

CommercialAppeal.com unveiled in an article - that two members from the Graceland crew, production coordinator, Trey Fox, and Julie Lighty, production supervisor - were married on the Graceland set, after filming took place for the fictional wedding of Laurel (Kellie Pickler) and Clay (Wes Brown) in "Wedding at Graceland." Of course, "Wedding at Graceland" is a sequel to the well known, "Christmas at Graceland," which premiered during the 2018 Christmas Season and held the highest ratings of ALL Hallmark movies for the year!

It was also revealed that the bride and groom previously worked together this year on the set of another new Hallmark Christmas movie, "Where Angels Land."

UPDATE: I've learned from a friend - "When Angels Land" was the original working title for "The Christmas Song" starring Scott Wolf and Kristin Chenoweth.

The article also disclosed an important detail on the upcoming Christmas at Graceland II movie. According to
CommercialAppeal.com... the new Graceland movie coming this Christmas is "not another sequel, but a new romance with new characters." Isn't that interesting - I can't help but wonder which musical talents will visit Graceland this year for Christmas!

As for this Friday night's Hallmark Christmas movie... Please be sure to Note: the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel have also been moved an hour later - just like the new movie premieres! If you are used to seeing them begin at 8, they will now start at 9. And, for those of you in the central time zone, who used to watch at 7, the time will now be 8!

Both Christmas films airing this week, "Return to Christmas Creek" and "Reunited at Christmas," have the same warm feeling of coming home, returning to the ones we love, and reuniting, not only with family, but with precious memories from the past!

I'll be Marking the 25th with "Return to Christmas Creek" on April 25th & "Reunited at Christmas" on April 26th! We are now 8 months until Christmas day! Do you plan to watch these movies to Mark the 25th or will you be watching something else? Please share in comments below!

Wishing You All the Joy of Christmas!
Merry "Mark the 25th" Day, Everyone!

  1. The good news, to me, in this is that thank goodness the Christmas in Graceland 2 movie for Christmas will NOT have Kellie Pickler, or if so, very minimal. I think I will be able to watch it now :)

Wow, the month has flown by, its already the 25th???? I am on a kick of watching A Perfect Christmas, but usually I fall asleep thru it. I will start it earlier tonight so I can see the entire movie. Happy 25th to all!!!!!!!

    1. Sabrina! A Perfect Christmas is, of course, a perfect choice! I love that this sweet little movie is kind of different than your average Hallmark movie. The focus is on the young, married couple, instead of a couple falling in love!

By the way, I love to fall asleep watching Hallmark movies, too! :)

    2. Watching at recently I have found myself wishing there were more movies where the couple was married already. I know they always want to show people falling in love, but it is also nice to see people in love already, BUT having to deal with issues that can put a strain on a marriage, like family coming in for the holidays, especially when they were a newly married couple. I know Hallmark wants everything to always be happy, but it is also nice to see people struggle a little and married couples go thru things but come out happy.

I laugh a lot thru this movie, all the mentions of Joe the poet, Cynthia's dad (who I have loved since seeing him in One Starry Christmas) is so funny in this movie, and of course, I want to see Dillon Casey in more Hallmark movies. I love many of his lines in this movie.

They first played this during Christmas in July in 2016 and I don't think it is a very popular movie, but I recommend it, very funny, happy, great actors, an all around wonderful movie.

  2. ...and I'll be marking the 25th with "Return to Christmas Creek" right along with you, Net. I really loved this movie as well as "Reunited at Christmas". Happy today and tomorrow, Christmas, everyone!!

    1. Linda... Glad you enjoyed this week's Christmas movies! I arrived late to watching both, but once I settled in, it was like coming home again! It's always so fun to watch with my family - and it always gives me such a warm feeling knowing my dear "It's a Wonderful Movie" family and friends are watching too!

Net, can't resist saying "Coming home again for the first time." I know you will know what movie that line is from. We were out of town for the nights of Christmas movies this week, but I watched Operation Christmas on my Kindle Fire.

  4. When will Hallmark make available more dvds of the past 2018 Christmas season movies. They have not even shown Marrying Father Christmas. That is part of a three movie set. Really disappointed with their releases to date.

    1. Anon. I understand your frustration. The good news is it really seems Hallmark Channel wants feedback and pays attention to fan sites like this one. Don't be surprised if the do a DVD with all three parts of that story before the year is up. I do not work for them, but I have noticed that do seem to respond to their audience.
Hi IAWM Family, the 25th is here again and I am in the mood for something a bit satirical. Tonight I am watching "Cancel Christmas." Judd Nelson is hilarious in this movie. I think he rolls his eyes about 50 times before the end and he just makes me laugh every time. Hope you all are having a great Mark the 25th from Mark2 in Washington state.

      Peace!

    2. Mark, I just ordered Cancel Christmas the other day, I think it was on the Hallmark anywhere Ap and I was watching it at my sisters recently, but since I don't have wifi cause I live in the boonies, I ordered it on dvd so I can watch it again. I love that movie, I just love when the "mean" boys begin to soften, but it isn't right away, so its believable. I will be watching that movie soon.

And to Anon, I wouldn't worry about the father Christmas coming on dvd, as since it has a WCTH actor/actors in it, Hallmark will be sure to put it on dvd.

    3. Sabrina, Buying Cancel Christmas is what I call a great decision. I watch it at least twice a year and crack up every time. Cancel Christmas is so much fun to watch. Watching Judd Nelson crack, just a little, is tons of fun, but it is also quite touching. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

    4. To Anon, Mark, and Sabrina...

      Anon...
Each year, just before the Holiday season fully begins, there is typically a big drop of DVD releases. Each year is different, of course, but sprinkled in with the newer releases, are sometimes some cherished favorites from the past, so you never know... , but just have to keep hoping! I expect we will see many from 2018 in either late Summer/ early Fall.

As for the complete Finding Father Christmas series of movies with Erin Krakow and Niall Matter... I bet Mark is right (above), they will probably release all three in one DVD set. No guarantee there, but it's likely!

      Mark...
"Cancel Christmas" is definitely one of those movies from the past, that they will probably show less and less of... or completely move to their streaming service. It's one of those dear sweet movies that always makes me laugh, and yet, there are moments that are heartwarming, as well! (Especially when they build the ramp! - What a beautiful scene!)

      Sabrina...
I have the same trouble with my internet service. Streaming is basically not an option for me, either, at this time. Our local service keeps promising higher speeds are coming, but still no progression. Ugh!!! Like you, that's why I rely heavily on my DVD collection! Enjoy your new DVD of "Cancel Christmas!"

      Blessings to you all! Net

    5. Net, I love the ramp scene too. It is so ridiculous and you can see the end coming and still keep watching. Cancel Christmas is such a breath of fresh comedic air. Completely kid friendly, but good for parents, too. You are probably right about it being seen less frequently in the future. Luckily, I have it on DVD like Sabrina and I watch it when I need a quick mood pickup.

Nice to hear from you, Net. Have a great weekend.

    6. Net, I am always happy with my DVD collection, cause I always have it (unless the dvd gets broken or scratched but I am very careful with my hallmark dvd's). I always hear people telling me "Netflix doesn't have this anymore, or Amazon Prime has this but we have Netflix", so I always feel having the dvd is golden as I always have it. But, I will say, its sad dvd's are disappearing from many stores.

I was also hoping that the Vineyard movies would come in a 3 movie set, so here's hoping we will have that and the Father Christmas 3 movie set soon.

      Delete
    7. That is so true, Sabrina. People pay for Netflix, but when a show they love is take away, they no longer have it. Considering how much people pay monthly or whatever, for these streaming services, it's really such a small price for us to pay to have our DVDs forever.

I agree wholeheartedly and hopefully, if many others are like us, than let's hope, at least, online stores, like Amazon, will keep selling them!

    8. Dear Mark, I was laughing very hard last night watching Cancel Christmas. I forgot how funny his assistant Mr Elfman is. That movie is so good, and one of the more believable transitions of kids from being mean to being nice. Such a wonderful movie. I am a sucker for the "are they santa" movies like Matchmaker Santa, Snowed Inn Christmas, and I love Meet the Santas (the 1st movie is ok, I love the 2nd movie better when they go to meet her mother and her ex boyfriend, so funny).

Thank you Mark for reminding me of this movie. And to Net for her setting up our 25th of the month, wow before we know it it will be December 25th :)

  9. Has anyone noticed that HMM channel took off the Christmas movies on Thursday's as well as any movies during the week? I wonder whats up? I saw that basically they are playing Psych all day.

    1. Sabrina - Yes, isn't this disappointing news? I was so looking forward to seeing again the 5 Christmas films that had been previously announced for this month on HMM -

      Small Town Christmas
      Romance at Reindeer Lodge
      A Bramble House Christmas
      A Christmas to Remember
      Christmas in Angel Falls

I'm not sure why this decision was made, but I know many Christmas movie fans are not going to be too pleased to hear this.

Thank goodness we still have the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel, Friday nights.

Not only is this disappointing news about Christmas movies, I'm tired of them only showing the Mysteries over & over. HMM has so many good movies to show but all they've shown since January are mysteries. I pay extra for this channel and I am growing weary. I posted a private message to HMM through FB but I know one voice isn't much. Thanks for letting me vent Net!!

    3. Joyce, I so agree with you. I hardly watch the mystery channel anymore cause its the same mysteries over and over again. And once you have watched a mystery, its not that fun rewatching. the only mystery movie I watch over and over is A Bone to Pick Aurora, mostly cause it is hilarious. And I can always watch the Murder she baked, they are funny too.

And the most disappointing thing, the HMM Christmas movies were better the last few years than Hallmark movies. I deleted Small Town Christmas and was looking forward to rerecording it.

Sabrina, you are so right. I watch Murder She Baked more than the others ...always have. And HMM Christmas are so much better than the regular ones. But, unfortunately there's not much we can do about it except flip the channel!!

  10. I was just looking at the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries schedule. No Christmas movies scheduled on Thursdays anymore, at least through May 23rd. That's as far as the schedule goes. So Sad!!! At least we still have the Hallmark Channel showings on Fridays.

  11. I just checked the preview video on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries website For their Thursday Christmas movies and it says they would be showing Christmas Movies on Thursdays ALL YEAR LONG!! So either they changed their minds or the schedule is wrong. However, my cable guide is also showing no Christmas movie on Thursday. Bummer. Oh well, We do have our Friday thrill still.

    1. Well, Jim.. it was fun while it lasted! When it comes to Hallmark, I always say... 'enjoy it while you can.' As I know, you are aware, they have been known to change their schedule around quite often. Just when you start to develop a pattern of watching something, they seem to change things up!

Like you said, we still have Friday Christmas movie nights on the Hallmark Channel, and I'm more hopeful they will remain - since the main purpose for airing them in the first place, as you know, is for the 10th Anniversary Countdown to Christmas movie Celebration on the Hallmark Channel!

Enjoy "A Royal Christmas" with Lacey Chabert this Friday night!
