HALLMARK Announces 8 MORE CHRISTMAS MOVIES for 2017 and JACK RETURNS on When Calls the Heart!!!

And now... there are 33 Christmas Movies!!! The beans were previously spilled by various WCTH cast members, but now Hallmark has officially released the news via EW! A "When Calls the Heart Christmas!" movie is in the works - once again!

Here are the EIGHT NEW CHRISTMAS MOVIES:

Evergreen Inn (Hallmark Channel)
Starring: Alison Sweeney
“Sophie Bennett begins a new holiday tradition of spending every holiday at the Evergreen Inn and Ski Lodge, which she inherited from her parents. Evergreen Inn is a special place filled with people who cannot make it home for the holidays or who have had such wonderful experiences that it has become their home-away-from-holiday-home. This Christmas, Sophie will meet an unforgettable family, and her own life will be forever changed.”

Kiss for the New Year (Hallmark Channel)
“That first kiss of the New Year is special: It’s supposed to signify that special person with whom we’ll spend the next year, and possibly, forever. So it’s wise not to squander those affections. When everyone else just puckers up to the nearest set of lips, Robin has always kept her wits — and her mouth — to herself. An established photographer at a lifestyle website, she’s assigned to work on a New Year’s Eve story with a new hire, Todd. When she confides in Todd that she has never kissed anyone as the clock strikes midnight, he sets about to correct this, by finding someone for Robin to kiss at the magic hour. His theory is a kiss is just a kiss, and she should enjoy the moment. Ultimately, they are both right. Todd finds a man for her to smooch, and Robin does find the right man. And guess who fits the bill?”

Never Too Late for Christmas (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries)
“Rebecca, a businesswoman who has let go of her joy of Christmas, is trying to secure her next big deal and promotion to executive vice president before the end of the year. When she’s sent on assignment to a remote town, she meets the handsome widower John, owner of the Holly & Ivy Inn, which is named after his two daughters. It’s not long before Rebecca’s all-business exterior begins to thaw and she finds her Christmas spirit returning just in time.”

Enchanted Christmas (Hallmark Channel)
Starring: Alexa and Carlos PenaVega
“Weeks before Christmas, interior designer Laura is sent to her hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico to remodel a landmark hotel. As Laura is kept busy with the renovations, her 8-year-old daughter Nicole is introduced to the art of salsa dancing at a local dance studio. Laura is surprised to find that the studio’s owner is Ricardo, her old high school sweetheart and former salsa dance partner. When Laura and Ricardo reconnect, sparks fly on and off the dance floor. The beautiful Christmas traditions of New Mexico become the backdrop for spirited dancing and unexpected romance.”

Snow Globe Wishes (Hallmark Channel)
“Snow globes can have a magical, mesmerizing sway over those who concentrate on them. No one knows that better than residents of Evergreen, Vermont. In this bucolic burg, where families have lived for generations and take care of each other, there’s a belief that if you wish upon the snow globe in the local cafΓ©, that wish will come true. The only catch is the wish must be completely sincere. When the town veterinarian wishes that this will be her most romantic Christmas ever, she figures that will happen with her longtime beau. Stranded in an airport, she befriends a businessman and his daughter, who had made her own wish on the snow globe. The magical Christmas they share turns out to be more than anyone wished for.”

When Calls the Heart Christmas! (Hallmark Channel)
Starring: Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Martin Cummins, Jack Wagner, Pascale Hutton, and Kavan Smith
“A loved one returns, Christmas spirit is renewed, and children’s wishes are granted in this heartwarming Christmas movie featuring the series’ beloved characters. Elizabeth’s fiancΓ©, Jack, surprises her, coming on home on leave and bringing a young Mountie desperately searching for Christmas inspiration. The community of Hope Valley works together to aid this young man with the help of an enchanted Wishing Tree. And as mayor, Abigail is pretty busy. Recognizing that, her newly adopted son, Cody, engages classmates in creating the town’s annual Christmas Celebration. While Sheriff Bill Avery forges a relationship with the disgraced former mayor, Henry Gowen, Rosemary and Lee are reminded that family is the true meaning of Christmas.”

Secret Santa (Hallmark Channel)
“Just how secret does an office secret Santa have to be? In Melanie’s case, she finds it’s just a little too covert. The assignments were distributed for Secret Santa, and Melanie is a little worried but very excited that she was given her crush, Donovan. She comes up with thoughtful gifts and spot-on notes. Donovan is so taken by his Secret Santa, he starts to fall in love — only someone else is stealing her credit, pretending to be his Secret Santa. Now Melanie must work to prove to Donovan that she is the right one as far as Santas and girlfriends go.”

Magical Christmas Ornaments (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries)
“A book editor, Marie had always adored Christmas, but that love faded when her marriage ended on Christmas Eve four years ago. To rekindle Marie’s love of the season, her mom sends a family Christmas ornament every day. Marie decorates her tree and feels her spirits lift with each ornament. Though she’s still limiting her seasonal festivities, Marie reads to children at a hospital, where she meets an attractive nurse, Nate. Marie is delighted when she gets to work with her favorite author on his new children’s book. She also happily organizes a book drive with Nate. Maybe mom’s ornaments are magical after all. But Marie jeopardizes her job when she refuses to edit her ex-husband’s book and starts to feel rather negative again — until her mom reminds her that the magic isn’t inside the ornaments but inside her.”

*All details above via EW!

  2. Such wonderful news, Net...and great timing! These 90+ degree days in the Midwest makes one need a little cooling off, and hearing about these movies does the trick! :-) I can't wait to hear who is starring in the movies that don't have the casts listed!

    1. Yes! Catherine will be in the Gold Crown Christmas (in July) premiere of "Home for Christmas Day" with Victor Webster and the premiere of "Christmas in the Air" (also known as: 12 Days) with Eric Close, on the Hallmark Channel, during Christmastime! She is definitely lucky, indeed, to get to do two in one year!

Lacey Chabert also did two in one year (2015)... when she did "Family for Christmas" and "A Christmas Melody."

  4. If they keep adding more Christmas movies, Countdown to Christmas will have to start on Labor day instead of Halloween and I would love every bit of that!!

    1. I'd be okay with that, Jim, but MANY others would not. Bummer. Guess we'll have to settle for just two months. In theory, that sounds like a lot, but at Christmastime it seems to go by much faster! I think the clock must speed up at Christmas!!! :)

  6. Yay, Alison Sweeney. I wonder if that means there will be no more Murder She Baked for this year, didn't she return to Days of Our lives recently? It would be awesome to see her in 2 movies and if one would be a Murder She Baked. Christmas movies will be here before we know it!!!!

    1. Since the "Murder She Baked" Christmas themed movie - Plum Pudding never aired last year during Christmas, I've been wondering if they think murder mysteries aren't ideal for Christmastime when they are trying to pull in family viewers. Just a thought... although, I personally love all the Murder She Baked movies and would love to see a new one, especially at Christmas!!!

Would also love to see another Signed, Sealed, Delivered Christmas movie, too!!! :)

Thanks for the fun comment, Sabrina!!! :)

So happy to see Alison Sweeny listed. The way the last "Murder She Baked " ended it could very well be the end with no cliff hanger. I was worried she had left Hallmark with the news she went back to DOOL. Would love to see her back with Jonathan Scarfe or Marc Blucas.

So Many Christmas movies is great news but I think it's getting a little out of hand. The older ones will probably eventually not be shown as much if at all and that is sad.

    1. Yes, I'm excited to see Alison Sweeney will be making a Christmas movie, too! I'm still holding out hope for more "Murder She Baked" movies, as well! Hopefully, they won't disappear like Flower Shop!

And, I'm also super excited we have learned so soon of Jack's (Daniel Lissing) return on WCTH. I thought, for sure, they would keep that top secret, but I'm so glad they shared it!

Like you, I enjoy the Christmas movies, but I am also concerned too many new ones might be too much too handle, but even still... Hallmark sustains top notch ratings during November and December!!! Let's hope that continues and they still manage to squeeze in some of our cherished old favorites! 33 movies take up a lot of time, though, and if each one is repeated, say 4-6 times, then that, too, will absorb many hours. Hallmark is going to need a station just for their classic Christmas movies soon!!! :)

Net, I read comments on HMM fb page asking when there would be another Murder She Baked. HMM answered back saying no news right now on any up coming MSB. Not liking that answer! That's the same thing they keep saying about Brooke Shields.

Sideline note: A few months back there was a discussion about HM using same locations, houses etc for filming. Well I think I have seen the same dress on two different actresses. The red dress that Tricia Helfer wears at the end of Operation Christmas I think is the same one that Alison Sweeney wears at the end of Peach Cobbler MSB. Well same design....ck it out.

    4. "Murder She Baked" is such a well loved series. Hopefully they will listen to all of us fans who love it so much... and bring it back. We have to see Mike and Hannah get married, right?!?! Perhaps, a June Wedding Mystery movie next year on HMM?!?!? Wouldn't we love that!!! If only!!!

As for locations, you are so right... Hallmark often uses same locations. I just adore the yellow house in "A Country Wedding." It's also been in "For Better or For Worse," "When Sparks Fly," and "Garage Sale Mystery: Guilty Until Proven Innocent." I'm always looking for it!

As for the red dress, oh my goodness... My Momma pointed that out to me last year at Christmastime when "Operation Christmas" was playing! Instantly, when Tricia came out in the scene, working behind stage, my Momma said "that's Alison's red dress!" I love that you noticed and mentioned it, too, Joyce! That's so fun!!! :)

As for MSB... I'm going to keep the hope for more "Murder She Baked" movies! There was a time when everyone said "Gourmet Detective" was... "stick a fork in it," done, but no... that was wrong, they've cooked up a new one!!!

So, time will tell, I suppose! I'm sure it wouldn't hurt, in the meantime, to keep asking and showing interest! :)

    3. Glad you saw it, Amy G.! There are several not on the top ten list that I loved, too - so, its not completely full proof, but essentially- a pretty good guide of what everyone loved last year!!!

It has definitely been hot here in the Midwest, too, but thankfully some milder temps this weekend! Watching Christmas movies definitely does give one *cool* thoughts!

Happy Christmas Movie Watching!!! Hope you can see many great ones in July!

      Blessings, Net :)

  18. I had a thought after reading the synopsis for the upcoming “When Calls the Heart” Christmas movie: What if the “young Mountie” is Wyatt Weaver from the last two episodes of the first season and the first two episodes of the second season? Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I was led to believe that the Weaver family left Hope Valley after the mines permanently closed at the beginning of the second season. If the “young Mountie” is Wyatt, that would make sense for Jack to bring him to Hope Valley for Christmas and for the citizens of Hope Valley to want to help him find his “Christmas inspiration”. Also, a former student of Elizabeth’s has never reappeared on the show before, so this would be a new story concept for the show’s creators to tell.

    2. After reading the synopsis for the new “When Calls the Heart” Christmas movie, I started to wonder if the “young Mountie” is Jack’s younger brother, Tom Thornton. I don’t know how or why Tom would become a Mountie, but if the “young Mountie” were Tom, it would make sense for Jack to bring him to Hope Valley and for the people of Hope Valley to help him find his “Christmas inspiration”.
