Candace Cameron Bure & Lacey Chabert will Star in Hallmark Christmas Movies in 2017!

Brace yourself for some fun Christmas Movie News! Entertainment Weekly (EW) just released this information via their web-site!

Via EW: "The ‘Full House’ vet (*that's our DJ, Candace Cameron Bure*) will play twins in ‘Christmas Sister Swap’ and the ‘Mean Girls’ alum (*she's our sweet girl, Lacey Chabert*) will become a pastry chef in ‘The Sweetest Christmas’!

In ‘Christmas Sister Swap’ Candace Cameron Bure "will play estranged twins who decide to trade lives."

In ‘The Sweetest Christmas’ Lacey Chabert "stars as a struggling pastry chef who advances to the finals of a gingerbread house-baking competition."

The film ‘The Sweetest Christmas’ will also include in the cast: Lea Coco (Queen Sugar) and Jonathan Adams (Last Man Standing).

My *Quick* Take:

Since both Candace Cameron Bure & Lacey Chabert have each starred in FIVE Hallmark Christmas Movies each, it's not necessarily a surprise that both of these beloved Hallmark regulars will be returning to grace our screens this upcoming holiday season! Even still, I'm elated to see and share this news! To see Candace portray twins in ‘Christmas Sister Swap’ should be rather interesting and fun! I know at one point, when we read this storyline, we had all wondered if actual twins might film this one. That, however, won't be the plan. This sister swap reminds me somewhat of the Disney flick "The Parent Trap" with Hayley Mills, or the remake with Lindsay Lohan, who portrayed both parts. I'm sure Candace will be great in both roles in Hallmark's ‘Christmas Sister Swap’!

As for Lacey Chabert's Christmas movie, ‘The Sweetest Christmas’... this isn't the first time she's portrayed a chef. She also played that role as Jenny in "All of my Heart." And, in "Matchmaker Santa," as Melanie, she owned and ran her own bakery! The title alone for this new movie sounds ideal for Lacey, as she definitely oozes her sweet personality every time I see her on screen! I don't like to think of her as mean, nasty Gretchen in "Mean Girls." I think the sweet character persona fits her style much better! Seeing Lacey create a gingerbread masterpiece in ‘The Sweetest Christmas’ sounds delightfully yummy and most definitely sugary sweet!

Both of these movies sound like a must see!

I can't wait for Hallmark's Countdown to Christmas this Holiday Season on our TV's!!!

God Bless Us, Everyone... Net

  1. Can't wait for these!

Also, do you have any idea what the Christmas keepsake schedule will be? I keep seeing and hearing "non-stop holiday movies" but I have trouble believing that lol I sure hope that's true!

    1. From what I know, it won't be 24-7, like Christmastime. I know, I love that, too... but, Christmas is the only time, unfortunately, they do that now.

On the Hallmark Channel, weekdays, the Christmas Keepsake movies will start after Home & Family at 2pm/1c. and they will end at 10pm/9c. (followed by sitcoms)

Then, on the Hallmark Channel, on the weekends during Christmas Keepsake, movies are currently set to begin at 9am/8c. and end at 11pm/10c. (followed by sitcoms)

On Hallmark Movies & Mysteries - there will be two Christmas movies on the weekdays, just like it's set up now, at 7pm/6c. and 9pm/8c. Then, on HMM weekends, the Christmas movies will air from 9am/8c. until 1am/12c.

That's what I'm hearing now. I would be happy if they decided to update it, though, and add in a few more airings, especially on HMM through the week! Great to hear from you, Heather B. I'll be sure to let you know if I hear any more news!!! :)

    2. Oh no, I was looking forward to 24 hours a day of Christmas movies and NO Golden Girls. That may be why I am only seeing the movies on once and some movies not on at all such as Snow Bride. They do have the movies on the hallmark channels, listed in the movies section and they have the showtimes, but no straight out schedule. I was surprised to see movies only playing once, when years past they would play them 2 or 3 times, but this makes sense if you are right Net. I am sorry, I don't have anything against Monk, but I don't want to see 4 episodes of Monk and then FINALLY a Christmas movie when it is Gold Crown Christmas week.

    3. I know exactly what you mean, Sabrina! I would LOVE to have it non-stop, 24-7, if only just for that week! But... it appears we will most likely have to wait for Christmas again for that.

I've been following Hallmark and their schedule for years... so if there is one thing I know, their schedule could easily still change. It's a month away, so there's still plenty of time for them to add more movies! Let's hope! :)

    4. I was wondering if "Nonstop Christmas movies" is referring to the actual Countdown to Christmas marathon (October - January) and not the Christmas in July stuff.

  8. The Sweetest Christmas looks a name change for the previously announced Sugar and Spice. Cameron-Bure's movie + plot was also previously revealed and, so far, seems to have retained its original title.

    1. Yes, that's the one - previously known as "Sugar and Spice!"

I was kind of surprised Candace's movie ended up being one of the plots they already revealed, but it sounds like an interesting movie, especially for one actress to play!!! :)

Thanks for commenting, SKP!!! :) Good to hear from you!!!
